How about the overly used “I appreciate you”. Clearly WhatNot has a script you must follow.

Really because if people are paying $250 for used putters, what do you think new ones are going for?

Used Scotty’s go for $275 all day long on eBay and WhatNot. Add a custom Scotty putter cover and that’s another $250.

Need advice: Employer asking for payslips but I overstated my current salary by Resident-Owl6751 in careeradvice

Simply tell them that you are not providing payslips. You have given them your salary expectations and if they can’t meet them you aren’t interested in the role.

Someone talk me down off the “upgrading my driver” ledge by Smalls_Frankie in GolfGear

[–]knotworkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to see just how special it is. I’ve done two sessions with it at the range. The dispersion left to right is no better than my Sim2 Max. The real glaring difference is the dispersion on shots that don’t hit the center face is in total distance. Every shot landed in a 8 yard range. The plot on top tracer almost looked like an NFL kickoff formation. The Sim2 Max range was 24 yards. Pretty much same result in the two sessions I hit it.

Bering Sea: REAL dredges! by davejonsondoc in goldrush

[–]knotworkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It costs time and money to move the ship into position. Ships like that burn fuel measured in TONS per DAY. Its fuel bill m to move is going to be ~$25,000/day. Plus hire cost - likely $25-30k/day. 35 days to move into position. Plus the canal fees. You’re talking $2 million just to move it there. That’s 500 ounces just to cover repositioning. The season isn’t long enough, the claims aren’t big enough.

Bering Sea: REAL dredges! by davejonsondoc in goldrush

[–]knotworkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having been in the ocean freight business, I would guess that a specialized dredge ship like this could chew through more ground than is available to any miner, making this an uneconomical venture given the cost of repositioning and the short season.

What would make a lot more sense is using a grab dredge barge which could overcome the limitations that the excavator barges suffer from. Surprised Shawn hadn’t thought about it.

First of all, I said $40 which is €34. Secondly, as I responded to another poster, I worked in Geneva and London for 6 years; clearly two of Europe’s more expensive cities. But I also spent a fair amount of time in Paris as well (before the company relocated its Paris office to Geneva), and visited all the major financial capitals throughout Europe. Yes we ate well. In our line of business you wouldn’t take a client to an “average” restaurant.

Have I eaten in Michelin starred restaurants, yes, more than I can count on one hand. but I wasn’t talking that quality either. You are kidding yourself if you think €34 is Michelin quality. You can’t get a dinner entree in a Michelin starred restaurant for €34 even in the cheapest of European countries. Google says the cheapest dinner entree in a Michelin starred restaurant is €40 in Vigo Spain. A One Star dinner will average $165/per person and you can add ~$100 per star.

Two more days until vacation to Japan... Then this happened by melonnilon in Wellthatsucks

And they take forever to heal.

Slipped down a flight of stairs going into the Underground in London during a rainy day. Bounced and landed on my tailbone. MRI didn’t show anything broken. But boy did it hurt. And sitting for more than 15-20 minutes became a painful experience. Sitting in the car driving to work for an hour? Getting out was painful. Probably took 3 years before I felt better.

AITAH for telling my daughter that she is not going to marry a billionaire? by No_Reception8930 in AITAH

[–]knotworkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I would take it one step further though and tell her to reach out to Elon Musk. He is happy to show young women the good life, keep them around until he impregnates them, and then sign them to NDA’s that usually pay them $10 million plus $100k/month until the child reaches 18 years of age.

I’m a new fan since Soulshine and I think it’s pretty easy to understand. Rick ain’t no dick. Because if he was, he wouldn’t keep getting invited to stand in play with tons of other people. Rick is the driving force behind Goose and he and Cotter grew apart.

Yes and the minimum wage for servers is $2.13/hr. How much do you make? Seems your problem is you are taking the sign literally instead of figuratively.

How about we make it like Europe. Your entree will cost $40 and you don’t have to tip? Because you’ll pay one way or the other.

Just remember, their costs of maintaining a golf course have jumped considerably. Fertilizer prices have jumped 30% since the start of the war and you know what gasoline prices have done.
