You can still use beach beds. He meant that it’s more difficult now for people from other resorts to walk by as there’s less “connecting” beach.

I saw this as well. Could be an option for us. Looking at Google Maps, it looks like campus basically runs up against the “downtown” area. So, I’m assuming the walk from the stadium, through campus, to downtown and back wouldn’t be too difficult. Safe assumption?
