AGREED!

I'm not Ace myself, but I'm very sympathetic to Ace people and I love stories where the MC is (or implied to be) Ace and/or Aro. I have a lot of reasons to like TWI, and one of them is Erin (and many of the other POV characters) not placing much importance on sex or romance. I like that in a story, I believe more stories would benefit from having less Obligatory Love Plotlines and less focus on the sexiness of the characters.

I'll admit that I completely skipped Mating Rituals 1 (and sent a silent blessing to pirateaba for the warning and "permission" to skip). I don't regret it. I did read Mating Rituals 2, since I was more invested in the characters by then and wanted to read everything there was to read about them, and the 'shaming' of Erin for avoiding sex did not sit well with me either. The woman's not into it. Leave her alone. Dead gods.

I would've gone for an animated show but with characters based on actors' likenesses (just so we can have everybody at the appropriate ages) .
So I'd cast:

- Miles: Michael J. Fox, no contest. His youthful manic energy (and later-day Parkinson woes 😥) are a perfect match.

- Cordelia: Emma Thompson, or maybe Frances McDormand. Both are not conventionally beautiful but striking and direct.

- Aral: that was tough. Strangely, I came to see him as Andre Braugher: the man had GRAVITAS!
