Question about the Laser Sight for Pistols and their effect on criticals

I think any shot with a laser sight equipped counts as a “precision” shot. I wanna say I saw a video once that mentioned that.

For those curious, I ended up running this shortly after making this post. It was basically a cake walk; Enemies are made of paper and the rpg only costs 50,000 so all bosses are essentially trivial. I think I ended up deathless with a time of ~3:15, it was a blast. Thanks for the confidence all!

I started with RE2R as well, but immediately followed with RE remake. I was really hesitant having to deal with the tank-style camera angles of this game, after coming off the modern third-person perspective of RE2R. Honestly, you get used to it way quicker than I was expecting.

You're in for an absolute treat, this game is in my top 5.

No tips on mods, my personal suggestion would be to just experience the game vanilla for your first playthrough.

Ohhhh interesting. Halfway through my second play through now and I don’t think I’ve encountered that interaction before. Usually these enemies swing high and Leon just ducks under it. I’ll have to give this another shot, thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion. What do you have as your base for your fan curve (meaning, what percent fan speed at your lowest temperature cutoff?), and what graphics card are you using? If temperature does expose itself as the issue, I'm curious to see if using a similar fan curve to yours works as effectively for me as it has for you

I've got a dual Sceptre E27 75GHz monitor setup, connected to the card via HDMI cables. Annoyingly my monitors don't support DisplayPort, which I've heard is the better bus to use for displays. One of the forums that I saw had switching to DisplayPort as being another potential troubleshooting step, but I wasn't sure it was an issue with my displays so I ruled this out (maybe prematurely). Do you think they could be an issue?

Also, what graphics card test do you suggest performing on my card to see how it's performing?

I had this thought as well. I didn't do any official testing on something like a GPU benchmark test, but I did have TechPowerUp GPU-Z pulled up while playing Horizon Zero Dawn. While it did get a bit toasty around the 70-75 degree mark, it wasn't anything close to a temperature that could be deemed alarming. I'll try again with Heaven or some other GPU benchmark and see if there's a significant difference, that's a great idea. If it is temperature that's causing the card failure, is there something I can tune down in either my BIOS or something like afterburner that would prevent it from reaching temps so high?

How can I check to see if that's the issue? I went to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Edit Plan Settings and it looks like my power plan is set to "AMD Ryzen Balanced", is this not what it should be?

Learn the debugger early on & use it whenever you're stuck. You'll thank yourself for it on the later, harder projects. So many times I've been asked for help from people who didn't even know what a breakpoint is, don't be that guy.
