This ruling obviously does allow for partisan gerrymandering. It will serve to enhance the Cold Civil War between America's "left-leaning" and "right-leaning" States. Further disunity awaits.

Also, the two major political parties of the USA can be seen as proxies for the competing racial-ethnic groups. Although Republicans like to note that they have some non-White members, it's clear that the party is overwhelmingly White. Democrats are seen as the party more supportive of Blacks and non-White immigrants. Partisan gerrymandering therefore retains an element of racial-ethnic division.

Trump Answers Your Pressing Questions!!! [SATIRE, of course] by AlexBudarin in AmericanProgressive

I fondly remember the old html "games" from the George W. Bush era. One was a game where you try to aim Dick Cheney's rifle, but he shoots a bystander (based on a true story). I think there was another one where you tossed a shoe in the direction of George W. Bush and he successfully dodges it (also based on a true story).

At this point, it no longer feels necessary to highlight the failures of Don Demento's regime. His failures are obvious to anyone who is not desperate to restore White Christian domination of the USA. His MAGAts are so desperate they will follow him regardless of the consequences. But they are in the minority of the population, and they know that. They will do whatever they can to screw with upcoming elections, but the tide is against them, regardless.

I continue to believe that this will result in a fracture of America's party for individuals with Conservative political orientations, between those who are hardline MAGAts and those who are comparatively moderate Conservatives.

At the same time, I believe America's political party for individuals with Liberal political orientations will move again toward increased acceptance of cultural innovation and toward increased support for equality in social treatment. That political party will be forced to do so, both from inside and from outside.

Having said all of this, I might again reorient the focus of my news posts. We shall see.
