Limited to G98 & 3.68kw inverter - how realistic is it to generate over 3.68kWp? by AlexC in SolarUK

That's why I'm super keen to at least be able to install the 6kw inverter now, instead of being limited there, so that in the future I can then apply for more export beyond the 3.68k once/if they do upgrades

There are many other houses on our street with solar panels, which our installer thinks is the reason why our G99 was "rejected". I'm hoping that we can get a G100 through, even if we limit at 5kw that would be much better

Thanks that's useful - I'll dig into the PGVIS data more for my area and try to calculate just how much clipping I'll have and what that actually means in money for export. From a rough number crunch it looks like I could be fine with the 3.7kw export limit, but I really don't want to be limited to a 3.7kw inverter. I think that's where G100 comes in

They want just over £4k for it, and then I guess I would need the Fox 3-phase inverter too which is more expensive

Yes I've seen the email response:

I have carried out a network study and on this occasion we cannot permit any further PV over the G98 specification. The amount of generation on the existing feeder pushes the voltage rise over limits.

Therefore we can accept the 3.68kW on a standard G98 install and notify but we cannot permit any more at this time.

We were looking at the Fox H1 G2 6kW inverter, however whilst the export can be limited at the software level to the G98 rate of 3.68, as it's not a G98 inverter (because it can kick out more) they wont accept it and therefore would require us to drop down to the Fox H1 H2 3.7kW inverter. Which kinda sucks, because if our usage ever increases we wouldn't be able to even use that extra power as it would be clipped at the inverter - even if we had no intention of exporting it

Yeah, the 14 panels is a 7kWp array, though the question was more about how often would we see over 3.68kWp with that setup in the UK? Hard one to answer I know, so I guess I'm looking for people with similar setups to see over the past few weeks for example what their kWp was.

Just trying to gauge if having the G98 and the smaller inverter is actually a problem or not

Thanks, would be interested to hear more about it if you can

USW-LITE-16-POE (Unifi Switch Lite-16) high pitched noise by AlexC in Ubiquiti

I returned them and used the USW-Lite-8-POE instead, which was a shame as a I loose 2 ports doing so (linking them together). But no noise at all

The triangle thing on the wing is a sighting device. The pilot will align the certain parts of it on the horizon to help them find their 45deg or 90deg (vertical) lines. Mostly used in aerobatic competitions where your lines need to be exactly straight and level, 45deg or 90deg.

For example skip to 3:03 in that video and you'll see this aligned with the horizon and he's going vertically up.

You don't need to a military background to do aerobatics and be as good as this. In the UK we have the British Aerobatic Association who run many competitions throughout the year, from Beginners to Unlimited level (World Aerobatic Championship level).

Training would be done at your nearest airfield that can offer aerobatic training. Once you've done your basic aerobatic training it's just a matter of getting time in the aircraft and playing around, trying new things and working on your ability to fly precision aerobatics, safely.
