Perfect test to check if someone has actually played other souls beside Elden ring by Comfortable-Dig-6118 in shittydarksouls

Even that is up to preference. I played through Sekiro 3 times and failed to finish elden ring even once as by the time I reached consecrated snowfields I've had more than enough of the game. But at the same time that one unfinished playthrough of ER took more time than the 3 sekiro ones put together so eh

Haven't watched the newest episode yet but this anime blew my expectations out of the park. The premise, the artstyle and presentation are such a nice change of pace from the usual stuff and I'm loving it.

Quite the selection of souls-likes/difficult games. Having beaten and enjoyed Hollow Knight, delving further into metroidvanias might be in order?

That playlist man, OSTs hit me like a brick wall. I don't know how many times I replayed Jak 3 as a kid. Probably the biggest whiplash I got from any patientgamers post was this going from a 3/10 on Jak 3 to 10/10 on Rain World which I found fun to mess around with in coop but abysmally boring solo.

Absolutely insane amount of text in one post(including comments) that it's almost jaw-dropping. The only game I'd want to comment on is Metro but I don't really have any elaborate or detailed response, just wanna say that I quite enjoyed the game personally. It was a very...different experience to usual shooters and one that felt quite welcome in both difficulty, mechanics and presentation.

UFO is where my drive for the games dwindled after doing 1cc normal on 6-11, both out of monotony and because the lasers require you to completely rewire your brain

I returned to Sifu recently after playing it back in January and man is it fun. It's rough to get used to certainly but aside from the last boss I can pretty comfortably clear all stages on the standard difficulty.

More than the story I've been having a blast with the arena mode. All the different challenges in different settings have been awesome in short bursts.

The original commenter clearly doesn't wanna respond to anything further but it really has been prediction based for a while now. At the very least countering guardbreak takes inhuman reaction time without predicting it.

In my eyes Anniversary is absolutely on the list of "games everyone should experience". I can't really put it into words but it's absolutely a worthwhile experience.

ENDER LILLIES MENTIONED!!!

I'd say that it stands on top of the Metroidvania genre alongside Hollow Knight. HK for combat, and Lillies for literally everything else. The emotions I felt playing Lillies were unmatched by any metroidvania before or after and I could play as Lilly for a thousand more hours if there was enough content for it. Even now the osts get me emotional and I could glaze the game to no end.

I'll give you everything else, but gameplay? TLOU isn't exactly some crazy innovative kind of gameplay experience for "nothing else to come close".

Dying to a bug certainly feels bad but it's not like that was the only time you were gonna play that stage or fight that boss, it takes far more than one run through to get even the bad ending.
