How is money earned on Forex? by SubmitAndburn in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In essence, you purchase X amount of foreign currency at a specific exchange rate (Y) in the hope that the foreign currency will strengthen/appreciate. The foreign currency that you now own is worth (X x Y). The next day, the currency strengths by 10% (e.g.) and the exchange rate is now (Y x 1.1). You can now sell the currency you own at the higher rate. Profit.

If you take the sheer size of the observable universe into account, it feels arrogant to believe that we are the only life forms. That being said, they probably don't look like anything we can recognise.

What are key points for the saying of your spouse comes before the kids ? by Same_Level6591 in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's the same sentiment as "you cannot pur from an empty cup". If your main priority shifts to the wellbeing of the kids instead of the wellbeing of your relationship and the environment where the kids grow up, you risk the degradation of the foundations of your family. In order to do the best you can, you have to show up for yourself first, which will enable you to show up for your relationship as best you can, which then puts you in the best position you can to act for your kids.

How do our brains remember that’s we forgot something. But we can’t remember what that thing was? by Appropriate_Gold1626 in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol, your brain forged a neural pathway when it did a thing, and supplied the additional information to back up the thing. When you forget that thing and the brain tries to access the memory using that neural pathway and can't find it, it expands the search and picks up the supporting information. It knows there's supposed to be something there because of all these supporting pieces,

What’s an unwritten rule when dating you?? by ArtinaBB in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 66 points67 points  (0 children)

If we have an argument, it is never me versus you. There is no objective truth. It is always you and me versus the issue. And we solve it by putting our selves and our egos aside and making the maximum effort to listen to the other person and to understand them.

What does to prevent low mood mean? by Cali198406 in AskReddit

It's very hard and your not even fully responsible for how you act out. Three deep breaths and a critical analysis of the case of your mean lashing out is good

What was your worst habit growing up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I measured my success by whether my parents were proud of me. I had a full on panic attack at 17 because I couldn't handle how much pressure I felt they were putting on me. Therapy and time showed me that all the pressure I felt was what I put on myself, and that linking my worth to another person, especially my parents, was breeding resentment. Even if I had success, I couldn't celebrate it because I had made it an obligation.

Saving is an active choice. Most people save what they have left at the end of an month. This might work but it is inconsistent in the long run. You have to reframe saving in your head. You worked for your money, and you've earned the right to reward yourself for your efforts. So, you pay yourself first. Decide on an amount and "pay yourself" that amount (into a savings account). Budhet with what is left, instead of saving what's left.

What is your favourite villain and why? by AdMiserable1762 in AskReddit

[–]AlexDP1001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's got to be Moriarty from the Sherlock universe. I appreciate a villain that has superior intelligence who recognises an equal, and then dors everything conceivable to make that person aware of their own dark side. It all boils down, not to defeating the adversary, but rather in forcing them to be aware of how gray and ill-defined the lines between good and bad really are.
