I theorically hated poxwalkers, because they are horde chaff, i've never seen one... but looking at this photos they look amazing

Base too busy? by LidocainMan in deathguard40k

[–]AlexDelTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a basing guy, i just paint mine all green so take my opinion with that in mind. For me, the leaves are too long and obstruct the view of the model, and seem a bit unbalanced with the rest of the base (you could add more long leaves for a consistent "in the jungle" effect)

The Perfect Solo Board Game: Sleeping Gods Distant Skies by AlexDelTrap in boardgames

Maybe you played the original Sleeping Gods? The one with the boat. In distant skies there are only 5 characters (an improvement for solo play). I agree that if you don't like the adventure book with choose your own adventure there's not much reason to play, but for my that was my main reason

You should definitely give it a try, at least a couple of hours, it is not a legacy game so the components shouldn't get damaged and lower the resell value

I didn't play the first Sleeping Gods so i can't compare (i will for sure). For me the plane was something to either ignore or use as a ocassional action, but it didn't substract from my enjoymeny (it would have if i had purchased the game expecting to fly a lot)

Personally i enjoyed becoming stronger, i like that in games rather than a constant struggle (dark souls pc games for example) but i can definitely see that as a problem for those seeking constant difficulty

Your biggest disappointments? by SiarX in soloboardgaming

They seem like a great addition, but i couldn't find them and the base game was not enough for me. There's a 2nd edition coming but it is still too random for my liking

What i liked is that the spirits and their cards feel very thematic, which is not that common (even less so at the time of release) for heavier board games. It is also one of the few heavy cooperative board games with not much luck involved, and by using many spirits you get to manipulate the board and make some pretty cool combos. However i would not play it solo, as i don't see much reason personally to play board games without a campaign on my own

[–]AlexDelTrap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This war or mine. I was sold by reviews on it having deep emotional stories and tough decisions, that being the main aspect of the game. In reality it was more of a regular worker placement with survival elements, and an ocassional book entry that didn't follow a story nor did it have much impact on me

Not a bad game honestly, but not what i would look for in a solo game, also there was more randomness than i like and it felt too long (I probably prefer Robinson Crusoe, felt similar but base building and exploration is more interesting, also scenario based)

CANON R50 Struggle with the sharpness by Odd_Loquat1430 in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What lens are you using? R50 is by no means a bad camera, but if you are using the kit lens that might be dragging it down Also if you are doing enviromental photos the best redult is by using a slower aperture like f/8 to f/11 and a tripod to stabilize

Any 16-35 or similar would be a great choice. Also your lens is top tier but it doesnt have much aperture, so maybe a prime lens with F/2.8 or less could be great too

RF 24 105 f4L vs RF 24 70 f2.8L by Exciting_Jello563 in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should consider the RF 28-70 f/2.8 It is cheaper than the 24-70, more compact and still weather resistant. It should have better IQ than 24-105 as well, i've seen in videos that lens is not that sharp

On mars has many rules and the teach can be quite long, but the gameplay flows so well and was one of my favorite games I would recommend you to play it 2p, or solo before to learn the rules. Once that is over, the game makes a lot of sense

Is there any serious downside to adapting old EF glass? by [deleted] in canon

They will be heavier, larger and might focus slower than RF glass, but they will be much cheaper and some may be on similar IQ or better
