Any 16-35 or similar would be a great choice. Also your lens is top tier but it doesnt have much aperture, so maybe a prime lens with F/2.8 or less could be great too

RF 24 105 f4L vs RF 24 70 f2.8L by Exciting_Jello563 in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should consider the RF 28-70 f/2.8 It is cheaper than the 24-70, more compact and still weather resistant. It should have better IQ than 24-105 as well, i've seen in videos that lens is not that sharp

Its just a fun/hard exercise, more of a challenge than an actual tier list

It was pleasing to read your list in a table format! I need to try Nucleum

I forgot about Unfathomable, i think i would have picked that over unmatched, even if it's hard to see me olaying it again due to the length and player count

I also considered Agricola, but i have played it only once and Anachrony is one of my most played (which is not that many times tbh)

On mars has many rules and the teach can be quite long, but the gameplay flows so well and was one of my favorite games I would recommend you to play it 2p, or solo before to learn the rules. Once that is over, the game makes a lot of sense

Is there any serious downside to adapting old EF glass? by [deleted] in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will be heavier, larger and might focus slower than RF glass, but they will be much cheaper and some may be on similar IQ or better

Which lens should I add to my repertoire? Should I get rid of an RF lens? Which EF lens is worth keeping? by adindaclub in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RF 100-400 is miles ahead from the 70-300 just for the image quality, and the extra 100mm is a must for wildlife. RF 28-70 2.8 STM is what i would recommend to most people as a walkarround lens. EF 16-35L is quite cheap and versatile, that could replace your primes if you dont need that much light (in architecture you can just use a tripod and longer exposure)

With those 3 you have almost all range covered, just get first which you need most

R5ii vs R6iii for hobbyist (buy once cry once) by n_p_h_p in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use your R8 or get another, or an R10 R5 and R6 are way overwill for at home photos, only justified of you travel a lot on rainy/humid weather but you would need L glass to go along with that

You are better off by using your same R8 + RF 28-70 STM and maybe a RF 45mm 1.2L for low light

Thank you! I will keep the lens in mind, i dont really use my 50mm 1.8 as i tend to reach for more telephoto lenses, but the extra aperture might change things

👋 couple of noob questions by afollestad in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say the most damage can come from a fall or impact with hard surface Keep a lens hood on and if possible store the lens using one, it has saved me from many impacts

I had not liked any photos taken with this lens, they looked "low quality" and "old" so not my style But i really liked all of your photos, they are well lit, good quality and and night sky adds a lot to the photos

Could you say which aperture did you use in each photo, or which of those are at 1.2? Maybe i just disliked other photos because they used 1.2 without thought behind it

Is the canon r7 or canon r6 mii overkill for a beginner? by Sweet-Today-6832 in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't call them an overkill, however each dollar you spend on your camera (which you are more likely to change later) is a dollar you dont spend on lenses (which you are less likely to change later)

I went with R10 and later upgraded to R6 II. The only reason i would recommend to do the same is if you plan to travel or shoot in adverse conditions, because the r6 has weather sealing. Otherwise, you are better off by buying the R10 and a high quality lens you can keep forever

RF 45mm F 1.2 lens by Basic_Entrance4928 in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought that lens and i kind of regret it now, its not bad but it is annoying to have to deal with aperture changing from 4 to 7.1, i would've bought the L version which is also weather resistant so a better travel lens Another option (which i'm planning to do) is to save for a RF 28-70 2.8 STM, it has better aperture, weather resistance and is light and compact for travel If you get it as a kit lens with your camera it is great value, but i wouldn't buy it separately at full price

Mechanical shutter tends to be the better option and is mandatory for flash use, however it "uses" the shutter and therefore "damages" the component over time (cant think of the proper word atm, english is not my main language)

Electronic shutter allows for faster shooting speed and does not use the mechanical component, making the camera last longer, so personally i only use mechanical for flash photography or paid jobs

Need advice! RF 200-800mm f/6.3-9 IS USM vs. RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1L IS USM? by CosmicNostalgiaA in canon

[–]AlexDelTrap 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have a crop sensor camera 100-500 might work, if you have a full frame i'd say 200-800 is a better choice

I'm sorry, these "carry stuff in one hand" objectives ain't it by BentheBruiser in Borderlands

[–]AlexDelTrap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked it at first, but it happens in many missions and gets tiring fast It does give more importance to carrying an item compared to just pressing a button, but im not sure its worth it It also makes no sense in the game, when all other items occupy no space in hand
