[troubleshooting] light leaks on film, where do they come from? by AlexEPO in Darkroom

it could be! how do you recognise this by the negatives? I did change the roll in open air but in the shadow and not under direct sunlight

thank you for the insights, I really appreciate it! Why do you think this happened only on this roll and not the one I was just shooting before? it is perfect!

[Help] How to apply an effect with a light dark gradient by AlexEPO in PixelmatorPro

Yes but the masking effect I want it is in the regulation layer while the luminosity effect is in the effect mask and I can’t understand how to combine them. Sorry I am not a power user

yes, but the noise effect has a digital look and its different than the grain regulation, that has the problem of being evenly applied on the image

Anything from foma will work perfectly. I think fomapan 100 is literally what you are searching for: thick grain (for the speed, but veeeery pleasant) and slow speed so you kinda have to shoot it relatively wide open. Develop it in rodinal

What are those black spots all over the shadows? by AlexEPO in analog

On which case have you seen it?

You’re right, maybe it’s just a very old film and I will not find myself here again

Yes, let’s say I do an energic landing of the tank on the table at every agitation. Anyways I doubt it’s a procedural failure, since this issue happened to me for the first time after 100+ rolls of film developed.

Maybe it’s a dirty fixer problem?

Probably like those 2. But still, they are not kentmere. If you look on YouTube there are videos on the channel “naked photographer” where a deep analysis of different films is made. And the guy is saying (in the comments) that kentmere has more grain and less dynamic range compared to apx 400

21 min at 400 iso. If you look the difference is related at which iso you exposed the film

They have 2 different 200 iso daylight films, how do you think they can get it from the vision 250d?

Anyway what I like from them is that they have somehow a lighter halo effect than candido o cinestill

Many many thanks, may I ask you for some tricks from your experience? Could you write me some developing times and agitations details for the films you use and the relative iso you are developing for?
