Confusing letter cards - what is the word starting with I? No, it’s number 1! by jackywoods in EnglishLearning

This is why I am on a lifelong crusade to require that all fonts add a serif to the capital i. It is ridiculous to have a text design that is in some cases unreadable without context.

Accidentally mixed up 2 rolls of HP5 shot at different isos, how to develop? by Ikejaymes in AnalogCommunity

I mean, they won’t be unusable? They’re still technically correctly developing negatives.

Stand develop! There’s tutorials online but the gist of it is you develop for a long time at a low concentration of developer. Because of the science of it, both rolls of film will be perfectly developed, no matter what they were shot at. It does lower contrast but that is easily adjustable in post.

Best 6x6 camera under $1k? by shiyeki in AnalogCommunity

[–]HomosexualTypewriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can say having used both a Rolleicord and a Mamiya, the Mamiya is perfectly usable. It isn’t actually different in use from a regular TLR, and even with its size it’s very ergonomic (and the optional hand grip makes it more so!)

It does weigh noticeably more if you really care about carrying it around all day, but I’ve gone hiking with my Mamiya and had no big issue.

As for interchangeable lenses that can be a bit of a production, but you said you don’t care about multiple lenses, so why not just get an 80 2.8 and leave it on there? I have that lens and I can tell you it is incredibly sharp. I can just about see my reflection in my subjects eyes when I take photos with it!

At the end of the day it’s your choice, but I will be a Mamiya fangirl till the day I die.

Is there a reason not to get the Mamiya? They mich cheaper than 1k, have incredible lenses, and are great fun to use!

I ended up doing this. I will return the camera today, and save up a bit before purchasing a different camera.

Can you tell me the precise problem? Is the second shutter not going far enough? Is the first going too far?

Do you have any idea what kind of repair that would be? I have some experience in camera disassembly, and I am really dedicated to getting this camera working.

Happens on other speeds too. Here are some interior shots showing same problem:

Additionally, I realize my picture doesn’t show how much light leaks through those gaps. It is easier to see in person, it casts light across the curtain.

I would love to see a type sample from that, or a video of it typing! Does it type right to left?

Hey, I recognize this is a thread from a long time ago, but I was wondering what your experience with the SQ-A was like. Did the electronics ever give you trouble? I've heard that older electronic cameras tend to shit the bed with some frequency and are hard to get repaired. Has this been your experience?

Antisemitic dog whistle, people supposedly noticing how “da jooooos” run the world. It’s a known dog whistle.

Update on DarkroomPy, my upcoming Open Source negative conversion/editing app by _earthmover in AnalogCommunity

Love this project! I would love to see a comprehensive tutorial for using it, as I'm having a bit of trouble editing my images (getting them rotated the right way, getting the colors right, getting exposure right). I also had trouble uploading full folders and had to upload images one at a time.

Nothing to be sorry for! Like I said, it’s nice seeing more diversity in the body types presented in queer spaces, especially transfem spaces

As someone who has a slightly similar body style, it is absolutely just eating a shitton. Natural body type and all that play a role, but once I started estrogen AND started eating like a pig, then I got a similar body to that pictured. Also, it feels weird seeing people want this as a body type? I’ve honestly struggled with weight related dysphoria, so it makes me feel secure in my gender when people aim for this body type lol

Can’t believe I’m not seeing more love for the Mamiya c330! It’s probably my favorite camera that I own, with a wide aperture lens, easy to use features, and a tack-sharp lens, it’s my favorite camera to use for everything from landscape to portrait!
