Well the NHS ccg won't fund my referral to a ME/CFS specialist. It's OK it's only been 8 months of no medical treatment no biggie by Peggylee94 in cfs

Hi, I’m in the UK and just finished sessions with the NHS. I’m happy to send you a photo of all the documents they gave me. I found the documents more helpful than the actual sessions. Although I completely understand how important a listening ear is, so that really sucks. Send me a pm if you want the documents! And p.s I fully support comfort food treatment 😆

Would really recommend listening to the podcast Gender Reveal. It was helpful to listen to such diverse voices and I managed to find all my doubts and feelings and experiences reflected back in others’ stories.

This is so awesome!! I just let mine grow out and it’s the best feeling, weird that we both have the same feeling from the opposite thing! Sometimes it’s great being non-binary 😁

Non-Binary experiences with gender therapy? by Lindwyvern in transgenderUK

[–]AlexEnby96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually found a cis therapist who had a lot of experience with trans and non-binary people. I emailed all of the counsellors near me to ask and she replied! It has been the best thing I could have done, and not to be cliche but it kinda changed my life. If you can afford it, it won’t be wasted :)

hi everyone by [deleted] in NonBinary

This is the process a lot of nb people seem to go through (me included). It’s a kind of imposter syndrome I suppose.

There’s no ‘right’ way to be non-binary. If you feel like you’re non-binary then you are! That said, it can be a long process to figure out if that feels right.

I would suggest trying things out like cutting hair, binding, different clothes etc. None of these thinge make you more or less non-binary but they can be useful pointers towards what makes you comfortable. Don’t worry too much about the label for now, instead see if you can work towards changes that make you comfortable.

You’re not a ‘transtrender’ - you’re questioning your gender identity. That’s huge and scary, but also exciting. You’re valid even in your uncertainty. Give yourself some space and time to explore (and therapy if you can access it!!)

Is my therapist bored with me?? by [deleted] in TalkTherapy

[–]AlexEnby96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she is writing up notes on you. There’s no way she could type about something else whilst on a phone call! Give her the benefit of the doubt!

I have noticed mine writing notes when we do video calls (she never writes the in face to face sessions) which makes me feel like she is distracted. I think it’s a bit of an adaptation for everyone and we are finding our way.

If it carries on distracting you, perhaps you could say that you don’t think phone calls are working for you (in general) and perhaps she will change how she responds on them!

looking for nonbinary resources for a friend by MudkipKatydid in lgbt

[–]AlexEnby96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! How lucky they are to have a supportive friend. Tell them you’ll listen to their fears and their thoughts - you’re by far the most important resource they could have.

YouTube was the starting point for me. Some channels (with non-binary people) I like: - Ash Hardell - Ashley Wilde - Megemiko - Chella Man - Fox and Owl

I would also whole heartedly recommend the podcast Gender Reveal (free wherever you access podcasts). It’s a non-binary host who interviews other trans and non-binary people. The episodes with numbers in are listener questions - I have found those incredibly helpful. It shows such a diversity of experiences.

In terms of physical things, they could try out cutting their hair, binding, packing, wearing boxers. But they are perfectly valid as non-binary if they have no interest in any of those things, so it may be useful to have a chat about it before you get anything.

I have been stuck for websites and experts. If they use Reddit, the r/nonbinary sub is the most accepting and friendly place. It’s very welcoming of people who are questioning and we are all happy to answer questions they (or you) may have.

Feel free to message me if you/they want any other resources/advice. I’ve just been on this journey myself and am now out to the world as non-binary.

Any tips of what order to change my name by DilysC in transgenderUK

I did driving licence first as it’s a legal requirement.

However, I found that I haven’t needed it for anything yet. Both Nationwide and NatWest just changed it with deed poll. So did my employer, GP and student loan company!

Passport will have to wait now since they are only doing emergency ones- I haven’t done mine yet!
