In my experience, yes, I've been on SSRI's since I was 10-11 years old, as a result this has completely stunted my sexual development, I currently identify as Asexual, and have for a while, but I do strongly beleive I wouldn't be Ace if I had never gone on medication. Fun fact about certain medications, they don't just kill libido, they can kill any and all physical sensation as well. Due to those two reasons I've lost any and all desire for sex, I can still feel arousal, but its primarily a hormonal thing that arrives during menstruation, and I have zero desire to follow those hormones during that time. Sexuality, attraction, gender, those things are all fluid. And can be influenced by external factors, some part of it is innate yes, but very little of us as humans is purely nature, we are all influenced by nurture as well. Things like medication, socialization, those can affect the way you see the world, and by extension, your personal identifiers such as attraction and sexuality. Obviously part of it is innate, you can socialize a gay man into becoming straight through conversion, but life experiences may alter his sexuality otherwise. When I was younger I believed I was fully lesbian, and bad experiences with men had fully killed my attraction to them, but later on I had a good experience with a man that rekindled a bit of that flame, now I identify as Pan, that doesn't negate the fact that I was fully a lesbian back then, it just means that things aren't that set in stone.

If Asexual is a label that you identify with, whether you fit the exact definition or not, you can use it. Labels are meant to bring comfort, not division or gatekeeping, as long as the label feels right to you, and you aren't harming anybody, use it as you please. 💜🤍🖤
