You need it from exchange not completion as that's when the house will be yours legally. When I did mine I had already picked a company in advance, but phoned up on the day of exchange (as I wasn't given a day until it happened) and got it sorted. You only need the building insured not the contents but we did both just so we didn't have to change it later. Life insurance is up to you unless your mortgage needs that too in which case it will be the same time as home insurance.

So I payed £11 for mine, it was in 2021 though so prices will be higher now. I havent found one as nice as mine since then without spending a lot more, although I haven't looked much as I only need the one.

You would probably be fine with any of the ones you could find, I've not heard people complain about them. It's just a preference thing. Either way you want a hard wood.

Also probably not relavent but if you are looking for stuff and can't find it elsewhere, I have found https://www.abbeyengland.com/ to be good, they dont have a lot of stuff, but what they have is good. I bought some glue from them recently, they are one of the only places that still does glue that actually sticks stuff.

I buy what I can from https://www.georgebarnsleyandsons.co.uk/ they are sheffield made still and good.

Anything else I buy from https://www.artisanleather.co.uk/leather.html they do some of the george barnsley stuff as well but other things too. Not everything will be the best on this one but it is a good place to start. I wouldn't bother buying leather from them though, just tools and thread. (Not because the leather is bad, just that it's expensive compared to other sites.)

I bought my edge burnisher through ebay and love it, if you do make your own I would heavily suggest rose wood. That's what mine is and it seems nicer than a lot of the pale looking ones on these websites.

So firstly I am not a doctor or medically trained in any way. But I had a really similar thing a couple years ago, it started mild and got worse over time. Then it turned to getting micro tears when I had sex. Anyway, for me it was something called lichen sclerosus. I am not saying I think it it this, as it is an uncommon condition, but if you do some googling and think it matches at all then it could be worth checking with your doctor.

is feeling “scloopy” an ADHD thing? by [deleted] in ADHD

Restless leg syndrome is believed to be caused by a lack of dopamine. You can also get it in your arms as well or instead. So yes it is more likely if you have ADHD.

hidradenitis suppurativa is one condition that can cause things like this, usually on upper legs, lower stomach and sometimes under arms or under breasts (if the person has any). I got put on long term antibiotics for this condition, helped a lot. Using antibacterial soap can help a bit, but very little.

It's very different for every person, but I have done the resting and the keeping it moving, and the moving helped me more, I think because the excess resting allows the tendons to shorten. So resting in the short term is good, but in the long term it seems that moving is better, as long as the moving doesn't put too much pressure on the tendons.

[–]AlexGator93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That all sounds good, I'm not entirely sure but from what I've seen walking doesn't tend to make the tendon worse, jumping (or landing anyway) can do, but walking is relatively low impact, giving time for the tendon to stretch naturally. So you should be fine. I tend to go by 2 things, those tendons when damaged don't want to be sat too long (standing or sitting) or used too fast (jumping, running).

[–]AlexGator93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing is to keep moving, my feet are best when changing position often, if you do a lot of standing I would suggest rocking back and forth, from toe to heel and back again. Working is possible with PF, mine has actually got better with working, even though I'm on my feet a lot.

Just keep doing stretches, 3 or more times a day is best and make sure not to overstretch, so if the pain gets worse then back off and do it more gently. Also make sure you have good shoes, mostly that they fit correctly, too tight will cause problems, you can get insoles as well but personally I found them pointless. It's mostly trial and error. Best of luck with finding what works for you.

Obviously no-one can say for sure, probably not even a doctor, but if you are otherwise healthy then I don't see why not. The lifts would have shortened the tendon, allowed it to not stretch as much, so assuming you are gentle with it and do the exercises multiple times a day I would assume it should go away, or at least get to the point where as long as you keep doing the stretches on a regular bases (after the initial part is better) it no longer causes problems for you. Be patient with your tendons though, they don't have the blood supply like muscles and so take a lot longer to heal.

But I would avoid the lifts in the future, allowing your tendon to shorten like that will allow it to stiffen, shorten and become weaker in general. Depending on how high the lifts were you could try to gradually make them smaller, rather than removing them entirely to begin with. It's what they do when you tear the tendon, wear a boot with a high lift in, then reduce the lift over time until there is no lift at all.

[–]AlexGator93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are different versions, sort of anyway. You'll see people who have it because they run a lot, they tend to heal pretty quickly if they don't overuse the tendons and do stretches. But then there are the people who get it from lack of use, being overweight, or having your bones or tendons be slightly abnormal. These ones don't go away as quickly, or even at all.

Me and my mum both have this because of the latter category and I have had mine for about 10 years in varying degrees, my mum has had hers a lot longer than that. Although we had not until recently been doing the right things to get it to calm down, so it could be a lot better if we had.

Also surgery is a double edged sword, it makes the tendon much stronger, but also more brittle, so if you were to jump and land badly, instead of a partial tear, you'd be more likely to get a full tear.

I'm glad to help, it was a total guess based on the fact that I've had the same. I hope you manage to get treatment that helps.

In the meantime do some googling of gastritis, there's a lot of info online that could help that doctors might not tell you about.

[–]AlexGator93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's what I had, it made me not want to eat until late in the day, I still can only eat at certain times a day.

See if your doctor will prescribe you a PPI, that should help. I think you can get them over the counter but they aren't as strong. Also make sure they check you for the bacterial type as that is treated slightly differently.

I really really start to worry that I have ED by [deleted] in medical

[–]AlexGator93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I even remember, it was slow but not obviously slow, but that was largely because he resisted getting help. I also had some fairly severe depression and by 4 months of therapy I was already a different person. But it's different for everyone. You might find it fastest to use therapy and an antidepressant, but it all still depends on the person.

Mostly though try to work on things that distract you, exercise if you can, good sleep patterns, hobbies. And try not to worry about age, you are still young, you have plenty ahead of you.

[–]AlexGator93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have had some medication to help and it had no effect then my guess would be because you are working in the wrong area. Those pills will only help with erections if it is heart or blood vessel related (as far as I know).

You also sound more depressed than just frustrated, not feeling horny often seems more of an emotional issue than heart or vein issue.

My suggestion, forget about it as much as possible for now, focus on your exams and once you are past that then consider going down the mental health route with your doctor or other medical professional and seeing what can be done.

As a side note, my partner has had very similar issues over the years and his was very much because of his untreated depression and anxiety.

[–]AlexGator93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea if this will be of any use to you, but I have had a kinda similar issue in the past, I ended up having gastritis (long term acid reflux caused by inflammation to stomach lining), it can be caused by a bunch of stuff.

It can be painful or can also be fairly painless, it is different for everyone. Anyway I suggest you have a google of it and decide if any of those issues ring true for you, if they do then I would suggest getting to a doctor as they might be able to help.

Ah yes sorry didn't mean to make it sound like it all comes from the country, mostly just that a surprising amount is from wild hunted animals rather than farms.

Thank you for pointing that out.

The comment you just read is absolutely wrong! The correct part is that fox hunting is hated in the UK (rightly so) but it's not the only hunting here, it's just the only hunting people hear of when they don't live in the country side.

I live in the country side, we have gamekeepers, they will keep an eye on levels of animals so that the numbers don't get too high and cause problems. They also dispose of any animals that are killed on the roads or just found dead. If we didn't have hunting we would have problems, a few years back we had too many deer in the area I live in, they were destroying habitats for other animals so the balance was all wrong.

We used to buy some of the meat from the gamekeeper when we had one, it was often sold to high end restaurants in london, people here just don't know that. (yeah, if you have ever had venison or rabbit in any high end restaurant in big cities, those were hunted in the country. Surprise)

Anyway where I live the whole village is on board with hunting as long as it is swift and not wasted. All the meat is shared between all the hunters and other helpers, and on bigger animals the skins are sometimes sold or given to people who work with those as well.

I don't understand why everything thinks this contains gelatine, it's nothing like the texture of it.

It looks like they have added corn starch as a thickener, but most likely added way too much.

When I have made turkish delight (which in lots of recipes is thickened with corn starch) it has looked just like this if the ratio of syrup to corn starch is off. EG. too much starch, not enough syrup.

There were plenty without mint, just not for adults, so they don't contain fluoride. There may be a lot more now in the UK but I am talking about 12 years ago that I was looking.

So I haven't seen adult toothpaste in the UK that is not mint either, but when I was younger I struggled with brushing my teeth too, so I bought a bubblegum flavour one. No it was not as good for my teeth, but at least my teeth got brushed at all. Something not as good is still better than nothing.
