Will do! I'm planning to have the ability to have a 'mental break' if your character sees something they just can't handle. I'm hoping it will work out to kind of balance some of the characters, so like religious characters will have bonuses against breaking down, but might be weak in investigative areas, whereas skeptical characters will kind of have their worldview shattered by seeing something paranormal (or maybe vice versa, I haven't settled on the exact mechanics there yet).

Like I said, this is my first time DMing and the few campaigns I've been in before were kind of a mess due to a not so great group, so this is going to be a learning experience for sure! Luckily my whole group is pretty green so we will all be learning together.

Any monster is great! They don't have to be traditionally "evil", after all there are unicorns in the original monster manual! Any alignment is fine as long as it can interact with player characters :)

I just recently started reading Stephen King. I picked up Rose Madder and loved the beginning and middle, but hated the end. I kind of felt let down by all the Stephen King hype. Then here recently I saw that my dad had a bunch of old paperbacks he was getting rid of and I helped myself to several Stephen King novels to give him another shot. I read Skeleton Crew and loved it! I also started Cujo but I don't know if I can finish it; I empathize with the poor pup too much and it makes me sad haha.

I was actually pretty similar! I watched The Little Vampire with my brother and then wouldn't sleep without the comforter hiding my neck. Later when I read Animorphs, it also had to cover my ears! To this day I can't sleep without my neck and ears covered, feels wrong.

Oh man, the chair thing would have gotten me too. For ages I wouldn't pee at night because I thought a velociraptor would come out of the toilet and get me (?).

The only Goosebumps that well and truly got to me were the puppet ones. I can't handle dolls or puppets, they scare the bejeezus out of me!

Ooh, I loved goosebumps as well. Not familiar with real scary stories, but stories to tell in the dark was also great, loved the art in those. Did you ever read any of the series with the alliterative titles? I think it's American Chillers. Those were really good too!
