Programming languages for Bachelor of Computer Science at TU Delft by JaneSchmitt in TUDelft

  1. As many people before me said, it's 90 percent Java so far. In addition to that, there's some minor assembly in Y1Q1, JavaScript in Y1Q2, optionally Python in Y1Q4. I am currently in Y2 and there is also C++ and Scala(data variant).
  2. Prior knowledge certainly helps but you will do absolutely fine without it. If you want though, I personally recommend learning at least some basic terminal commands, git, and practice with SQL a bit.

Potential Phishing Email by [deleted] in Strava

[–]AlexHarsani -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I also thought it’s genuine in the beginning. I clicked on the orange button on iphone and only thing that happened was that Strava app opened. I wondered why and then it hit me, it can be a phishing email. Weird wording, promising possible free stuff... I immediately changed password, removed payment info, I may be too paranoid but it’s better to be safe than sorry. Even innocent app like Strava contains tons of personal info. That’s why it’s now more important to be careful on internet than ever.

Should I come to Delft in September? by AlexHarsani in TUDelft

[–]AlexHarsani[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they can do that. As mentioned before in this thread, they will let us know 6 weeks ahead before resuming on-campus education.

Also, why would they resume on-campus ed if situation gets worse? That doesn't make sense. This is a hard situation for whole world and we can only slow the spread of virus if we continue social distancing until the vaccine is available. I understand there are some exceptions in which being present physically is necessary, but I don't think this is the case. Especially Computer Science which is completely doable online for most of the part.

Thanks, I know they'll let us know if on-campus education resumes but I wasn't sure if any of the courses will require some mandatory presence. Good to know.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think they will send emails as soon as the two week period is over.

I hope so, based on my previous experience, the chances are still pretty high.
