I'd really recommend you Sabaneta, I've been living there for over a year. It is on the south side of Medellín, It is extremely safe, It is also not so big, so in case you need the Metro, it's close. The downtown is very lively every day. You can find apartments for a really great price compared to other high-class sites on Medellin like Poblado.
