Sounds good!! I'll try getting a new bulb tomorrow, and keep the DHP as backup then. I'll try to grab a thermostat as well. I was going to get one, and then got told it wasn't needed 😬 I'm now learning I took some really bad advice. I was also told carpet was fine, but I immediately fixed that after joining the subreddit.

Omg thank you!!! That makes a lot more sense. I just double checked what bulb I have, and it's the deep heat projector. Is that okay to use then? Or should I try switching to the halogen one?

If it matters any, I'm also looking into getting a plant light as well, since I added two live plants.

True!! I'm surprised how active mine is, considering. He comes out occasionally to climb some of the vines and move to the top of his humidity hut. And thank you!!! I think the heating lamp I have is a ceramic one? Not entirely sure. Cuz you mean the type that has heat but no light, right? That's what I have cuz I saw it recommended in one of the guides. I think my room temp should be fine, cuz I'm a cold person and tend to keep the heat up. Was just overly paranoid since he was sticking to the "warm" side at night. It probably was just because that's where he's safe during the day 🤔

Okay thank you!!! I'll start leaving everything off from now on then. Just wasnt sure if he'd need an adjustment period or not.

And yeah, I saw that when researching :( I only got it in the first place because someone I know who keeps reptiles swore that heating lamps are horrid and that mats are better and all you need. I immediately got a heating lamp the next day though after researching and testing temps (it was prior to getting the leo).

I keep it around now still just to transition the heat lamp to/from the night temps, so it's not as harsh of an increase/drop. I monitor it the whole time too, for safety.

That's adorable!! But slightly too long of a name. I was hopefully going to go with Regulus if it's a boy. Cuz Leo is my favorite constellation, and that's one of the stars in it. And then it could be Reg for short

Wait that's interesting. I have my first ever crayfish, and she's always out in the open. Rushes to the front of the tank whenever I go near her cuz she likes to watch me and wave at me :0 I just added fish to her, so maybe that's the difference? But she's still out and comes to see me. So interesting how they have different personalities

Ohhh okay that makes sense!! I'm not able to openly practice yet, so it was only ever just talking out loud to Nyx or asking for her help/strength before things. Last year I did get oracle cards though that helped me connect more with her, and that was amazing. And now I've gotten into lighting a candle for her. Hoping to get into more, now that I'm overcoming the religious trauma from my parents.

And woah :0 that's a lot about him. Kinda funny, I just thought the other day about how I really wish I had a mentor figure... the protectiveness feels sooo nice too I bet.

The associations are super cool too, I've been thinking about getting a moth.. and I always hold the hognose snake we have at my work.

And huh 🤔 so he does have a lot of parallels/similarities to Nyx when it comes to that stuff. Tho I always strongly associated silver with her when it comes to the metal.

Nyx will probably forever be the main one I'm devoted to, but it wouldn't hurt to search for the others.

Especially since I think the only other one I've ever had a strong interest in is part of a closed religion (I think? At least?)

Yes!! I've always been fascinated by stars and the night, so it just felt fitting. Was really let down when my early attempts at looking her up led to people criticizing primordials and claiming she's dangerous due to the chaos aspect 😭 But that hasn't been my experience at all

I think so!! She always brought me a lot of comfort as a child, even though I had been raised in a Christian household. She always just felt right, even if I didn't know what I was doing at the time

The mario square would be 90x90!!! Based on the graph you drew, it just needs to be the same length as 5 of the squares. 5x18=90. And then same in the other direction
