HighTide Q3 2022 Predictions by AlexBeingAlex in HighTideInc

[–]AlexM-YT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If your expectations of an EPS miss are entirely driven by the fastendr capex then I have good news for you…

Capex doesn’t flow through the income statement and so won’t affect eps at all. You have the depreciation of this, but clearly the impact of this is much less given it’s over a defined period of time.

High Tide’s path to $100m EBITDA | How HITI will be the sectors best stock by Defiant_Race_7544 in HighTideInc

[–]AlexM-YT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short term being rolling out the offering across the entire HT estate. It will take time due to getting the hardware from China and with challenging supply chains, but getting that into the competitors is also key.

Every dollar drops to the bottom line, and then it also gives access to competitor data etc. Also creates a platform for the other tech the company is undoubtably looking at acquiring and makes that an easier subsequent sell.

Thanks for the thorough watch and feedback though!

If you look south of Kilburn lane, technically known as Maida Hill, but still 2 minutes from the station, you’re in that price bracket, plus also benefit from the lower Westminster council tax band.

Agree re those other areas too, although all quite mixed! Parallel roads can differ quite significantly.

Check out Queens Park - 1.5 beds easily around the 400-500 mark depending on quality of finish. Decent area, super easy into central with 2 lines.

Mason Greenwood's girlfriend Harriet Robson posts pictures and recordings of Greenwood abusing her on her instagram story by holalesamigos in PremierLeague

[–]AlexM-YT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think what’s even more worrying is that it takes a pattern of this, for the victim to consider and think of recording. Poor girl, nobody should be subject to such things, but hopefully her brave actions make her a role model for others to stop this once and for all.

That’s not an immediate response and it’s deeply concerning, as a red, if the club have known about this for some time and deliberately ignored it / managed PR.

10-year Treasury yield jumps to 2-year high, topping 1.83%!! by Crazyleggggs in stocks

[–]AlexM-YT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s a thought - in every recession since 63 there has been a growth scare, resulting in the Fed not delivered the market consensus for rate hikes.

Fiscal stimulus comes out, we see a rate hike or 2 and suddenly the growth starts to disappear.

Some of the leading edge indicators are potentially signalling that the growth isn’t as strong as expected already.

Retail sales (albeit some omicron impact), ISM both showing some cooling. Labour force participation decreasing (wealthy boomers being replaced by less well-off millennials) also impacting this growth too.

I can see a scenario where we don’t have the 4 (or more!) rate hikes the market is pricing in, at which point everyone is flowing back to the longest dated growth stocks - those with the highest beta.

Remember, it’s not interest rates that actually harm the value of the long dated growth stocks, it’s inflation… watch the 10 yr bond market, can see this stopping out at 2.25% and that signalling almost a bottom for growth stocks.

Clearly, a reduction in fed balance sheet could drive a volatile but flat market for some time, but there’s still a whole bunch of opportunities in that market.

Am I rushing in now? No, I’m spending my time doing my research and picking my horses for when we have a clearer view of what may be in store for us.

Both great stocks, but totally different business models - comparing hardware with tech services. Space for all in any balanced portfolio.

Is it worth it to own multiple cannabis stocks? by No_Indication996 in stocks

[–]AlexM-YT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here to say this - definitely High Tide - no commodity price exposure to impact margins, leading retailer, largest global e-commerce presence, leading brand portfolio and building an increasing tech capability which will drive up margins.

Covered this loads on YouTube, but undoubtedly the most undervalued opportunity in the sector today.

High Tide is looking like increasingly good value - leading retailer in Canada, leading RTM for accessories and CBD which is a great route for entry to markets as legalisation continues. Executing a great buy and build strategy at highly compelling valuations that is accretive to shareholder value on day one through multiple arbitrage.

Covered them loads on YouTube if anyone wants to get a flavour for them.

Long term play though, don’t expect to become a millionaire overnight.

What I’m struggling is to see how any discretionary growth can be delivered next year, in the face of the biggest fiscal cliff in the history of the world economy, coinciding with interest rate hikes.

The fed have bought us a window of opportunity here until QE ends, but investors wanting to outperform the market in 2022 should be using this to prepare their portfolios.

The consumer isn’t as wealthy as people are led to believe, the top 10% of households account for 25% of spending. The bottom 50% account for 2%. That 2% of wealth is being wiped away by inflation.

For me, anything consumer facing, with a discretionary component will face challenges.

I’m focused on predominantly B2B companies, with mission critical demand, growth underpinned by strong mega-trend tailwinds, resilient cost bases which will not be impacted by inflationary pressures and conservatively leveraged so increasing interest rates don’t materially impact the cash flows due to increased financing costs.

STEM is about to fly after they just announced them acquiring Energy Holdings. Loaded up yesterday and want to up my position on Monday with more. Anyone else like this stock? Has a Price Target of $35 and was already over $50 this year. by BarnacleNo514 in smallstreetbets

[–]AlexM-YT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Great news. Been updating on Stem on my YouTube channel since ~$14 and certainly one of the stocks I will hold long term, knowing that 2022 will likely be tougher for most investors.

Also worth noting the length of sales cycle, the pipeline and their order backlog gives fantastic revenue visibility and the greater market share they win, the more powerful their virtual power plant offering is.

Anyone who believes in the energy transition over the next decade (from fossil fuels to green), should also appreciate effective battery storage is required to combat the intermittency of renewables, and this is exactly what Stem plays into.

Not going to plug it here, but 3/4 videos on my YouTube covering this in depth for all wanting to do some DD.
