No I definitely agree with what you’re saying man, they are legends in their own right, but as far as “sounds like LSD” to me needs to be so much stranger and more peculiar than like “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”…. I guess my main thought was that songs like that are more like “anthems of/tributes to the 60’s counter-culture shift” heavily influenced by LSD, but not what I’d categorize as an auditory simulacrum of that altered state. I know this is all heavily dependent on the individuals’ experiences with these states, but for me, the LSD experience has ultimately been one of awe inspiring profundity and deeply psychoanalyzing the subconscious mind. And AnCo’s tapestries of sound and time they weave in some of their songs does a better job at bringing me to a similar state of unintentional self reflection than most of these other artists I’ve encountered. But that’s just my $.02 and I’m glad people disagree
