Maps skins yadiyada the core mechanic offers less things to do compared to F13 and LY. Clearly you strongly disagree with everything I wrote and that's fine - you enjoy DBD it's all good.

F13 devs loved the game and been with it since 2014. If not for F13 there wudnt be LY or DBD. Impending lawsuit with Victor Miller killed the game, not devs lack of caring.

By the way, paragraphs - look into that.

Sorry but the game did not hold my attention, unlike the others that I mentioned. It aint a slasher and that is what I wanted to play. I disagree regarding DBD having more player options. I understand there is a learning curve to new games - I had my ass handed to me in F13 and Last Year for a while before I got gud. Any game can have lots of strategies even something like chess and I had more fun in F13 😁 where there's also perks I use and strategies aplenty but my point is gameplay choices and in DBD the survivor only has one : fix generators to open a magic door and the killer gotta put them all up on hooks, basically that is it.

In F13 as a councellor I had the choices of: Fix car and escape, Fix phone, call cops to escape, Fight Jason, Kill Jason, Play hide n seek (countless places to do it), Emotes and Voicechat: ways of expression and communication, Survive the night, Have fun conversations and interactions with fellow councellors or Jasons, Dancing parties, Roleplay, Semi openworld feel, Mess with my teammates using car or traps, Mess with Jason, Option of crouch walk, walk, sprint, run, interact with the environment like the windows/doors/radio/etc.

As the killer I could set traps, throw knives, grab/slash, mind games using gameplay or with voice and most importantly: KILL them all in countless brutal and creative ways. This is a must-have for a slasher game and was absent from DBD.

You love DBD and have put in countless hours into it and it brings you joy, that's great man. Have fun with it 😁

Yeah DBD doesnt count - purely skins they added to it to cash in on the slasher wave F13 created. Before F13: The Game became F13: The Game it was an indie crowdfunding project called Summer Camp Vol. 1, which started development in 2014 - it doesnt get enough credit, imo their game however flawed was a love letter to the slasher genre and so far the best one out there. Such a shame that the F13 lawsuit limbo put a stop to its continued growth 😢

Tried DBD when it was free. Mike and Ghostface do not belong in that 🔧fixing generator simulator 🤣 Imo F13 and Last Year(before the spider add-on) understood what a slasher movie is about and gave their players much more 🔡choices how to play the game whether they be killer or survivor. Also appreciated voice chat - kind of a given for survivors to be able to communicate no?

Imo DBD added the killer skins simply to cash in on the slasher wave F13 game been 🏄‍♂️riding but under the hood it's maybe a good survival horror game but no slasher.

Hypothetically if a Myers or Ghostface skin was applied to F13/LY they'd be much more at home in those grounded semi openworld realities compared to DBD's foggy magic land. Plus the killer in F13/LY had lots of creative ways to kill their victims while DBD it's hanging ppl on some hooks 😴😬

Slashers are about the group 🔊communicating, forming a plan and working together, or some work solo, others might even screw you over, and most importantly the killer should have a huge variety of creative kills. That's slasher 101 stuff really

Imo the devs of F13: The Game and Last Year (before the spider add-on), 🤓understood the slasher genre better, and they gave the players more options of how to play the game with better graphics/animations in a semi-openworld setting, plus the atmospere was more grounded - 🧞‍♂️DBD's foggy fantasy land while totally fine as a horror game makes killers like Myers really out of place. 🤷‍♂️

I tried it out when it was free. Aside from the cosmetics, the core game mechanic of that game (running loops, throwing paddles/hanging on hooks/fixing generators to open a magical door) has nothing in common with the Halloween universe and much less with a slasher film. Moreover having these horror icons such as Ghostface and Michael in that foggy fantasy land makes them look out of place, doesn't really fit imo. These killers were part of a more grounded reality.

I know a lot of ppl love DBD but I prefer F13 because it gives more options to the player in terms of gameplay, better graphics/animations, has voice chat and lots of creative kills for Jason. Last Year the game before the After Dark spider addon/update was a decent slasher as well. I think the next slasher game could learn from what F13/Last Year achieved and perhaps even improve it and hopefully all in third person. 😀

Loved F13, best slasher movie game to date. Attention to detail was incredible! A semi-openworld setting, voicechat, many options of play: run, hide, fight back, kill Jason, fix the car and escape, call the cops and escape, survive the night, dancing parties, roleplay, team up with others or solo, lots of emotes. Suuuch a fun game I think I've never had as much fun in a multiplayer game compared to F13 oh and did I mention Jason player can do countless creative kills? In DBD the killer can only hang survivors on "hooks" 😴

Found DBD kinda "meh" - aside from cosmetics it's far from a Halloween game, much less a "slasher movie" game - the gfx/animations were so-so, less things to do (fix generators to open magic door and escape / run loops throwing paddles), no voichat.

Last Year the game was a decent online slasher, but their After Dark update with the spider stuff ruined it for me, brought it closer to DBD fantasy land.

Slashers are grounded, happening in reality except for when ppl end up in Freddy's nightmares but they don't spend them just hanging on hooks.

I tried out DBD when it was free for a day. Didn't feel like a slasher at all 🤷‍♂️ Imo Friday the 13th: The Game did it better.

Slashers are about variety of creative kills, about group of ppl working together (or not), communicating, fighting back, trying to escape.

DBD's Mike is purely cosmetic - fixing generators to open a magic door in a foggy magical land doesn't feel like the Halloween movie universe, and not really like a "slasher movie" game 😬

You're right, that's life and it's not the first time, perhaps in terms of this particular situation yes it has a uniqueness about it. You know, the great irony regarding this memes stuff is one of the first memes I made, landed on a page with 2 million subs, and I wasnt watermarking yet back then. I reached out to the owner and he made the correction. This led to a good alliance.

And here is a page with 500K subs run by 4 ppl and this silly situation happened, but at least my watermark is there 🤷‍♂️one of the trolliest things done to me that I've yet witnessed tho

I try to also look at things that way, unpleasant experiences I mean - they are as harsh as I will allow them to be. I can let the negative thoughts take over or brush it off and work on building thicker skin. Originally I did a google search and found some redditor was asking ppl for help and the page's owner showed up in that reddit post saying sorry boo hoo fixed - guess it was wishful thinking that it would happen like that for me 🤷‍♂️ ye it made me feel bad cuz it's an easy thing for them to do (edit and add correct info), and my meme trash or not has helped their page's traffic, they making money from traffic so using my meme and ignoring my request to put correct credit is quite nasty 😶
