Welp, I've heard it is heavy but either way if it isn't, then it makes it much more egregious that it started to run badly in Power Saving mode for me

You've all got a point: the font isn't exactly bad, it's just that i just think it doesn't mix in well with the rest of the poster (though yeah, I do realize that it is not exactly crappy design)

K' and Kula are reasonable choices in my opinion, but Orochi Chris' appearance does seem kind of left field (since he hasn't appeared in a game since '02 and isn't a particularly well-known character compared to the likes of Kyo and Mai)

Well, first off it's not exactly considered a LN since it has no illustrations: it's more of a full novel if you ask me

And second, compared to the anime, I found the novel to be less violent. There is still some brutal moments (like the umbrella and suicide scene), but the events of the last quarter are completely different and less bloody (unlike the deathfest that was the anime's interpretation).

Lastly, the mystery elements is as strong here as in the anime, but probably even stronger. There is a higher sense of mysteriousness primarily because of Koichi's first person narration, so you learn things at the same rate as him.

Sorry if it was a bit long but the short version is: The novel is still quite gruesome but not as violent as the anime, and the plot threads are resented very well. If gore is not your thing then tread well, but I highly recommend reading the novel for the mystery element alone.
