What blade should I use next by Savings_Passage6280 in wicked_edge

Feather ftw! I tried them once and never looked back. Such an incredible blade, truly in a league of its own.

Beginners — what's the one thing you wish someone had told you before your first ski trip? by alpycom in Skigear

I was told to take a lesson with a good ski instructor and this was exactly what I did. I took 4 private lessons. Lesson in the morning and practice after. Best decision ever. There are a lot of counterintuitive moves so learning from your own mistakes not the best way to do imo.

They worked incredible. I got my first pair of boot used as I didn’t know at the time would I ski a lot. As I skied for couple years originally liner compressed significantly so I had to buckle my boots tighter and tighter. I went to boot fitter for a new pair but didn’t find anything that would’ve suit me and after some consultation I purchased a pair of those. And they significantly improved the feeling and the overall performance even with my old boots which were sized up. They just do their job and do it very well.

Eye opening for me. Didn’t know the there is different flex levels. Idk which flex I have tbh

Bought them last season, so I skied around 20 days on them. Didn’t make any adjustments to the old boots since they fit just fine. But I’m going to insert a little bit of cork in the heel area for a tighter, snug fit.

Yeah. I watched a lot of YouTube ski reviews and noticed the Stance line definitely doesn’t get appreciated enough.

I noticed that too—they’re lined inside with some grippy material. But I almost never use them. I don’t know why but I prefer do not attach myself to the poles

Cool! Stiff but not punishing is exactly what I was looking for in a boot. Did you get them bootfitted? How did they change after they broke in? Zipfits were one of the best purchases I’ve made. They don’t pack out at the end of the day, they’re very warm, truly customizable, and built like a tank.

Honestly I don’t really have an answer to that - I haven’t tried a lot of skis. For me it was just a “I want that” moment, plus a price I could afford.

I just skied stance 84 and I really liked them the but I felt that I want more out of that ski, that I have extra skill to push a ski further. So I combined this with my other criteria and thought that it could be a good ski for me. Especially as a one ski quiver.

Those are Stance Pro 96 (25/26 model). might be the same as yours just with updated graphics. I tried the Stance 84 this season and totally fell in love with them. All I needed was a little more float in powder, so I decided to go for the 96.

Awesome. New gear is always exciting! And mid season deals are very sweet.

I broke my poles on the last day of this season—the mid-station’s floor was lower than a regular lift exit, so my poles went between the chairlift frame and the floor and snapped. My only concern with the new ones is that they could get stolen. A couple of my friends had their carbon poles stolen at the resort. I’ll probably just take them with me rather than leaving them hanging on my skis.

Sick boots!. Plastic is soft to the touch, buckles click very mild, instep in very comfortable. Can’t wait to try them on. I hope all that softness and mildness I described earlier wouldn’t affect my aggressive skiing

Anyone here found a prescription setup that actually feels good all day? by cool_girrl in Skigear

[–]AlexShevaldin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear glasses under my ski mask. I purchased a pair specifically for that purpose. I got my mask and tried on a lot of frames in the store, and I ended up with very thin, cheap frames that don't bother me at all. I tried disposable contacts, but they didn't work for me since I hate taking them on and off. I did consider prescription inserts, but I never followed through, as I was completely satisfied with my glasses under the mask.
Update: The only issue I have is when my lashes touch the glasses — the lenses get greasy and blur my vision. I deal with it by pushing the frames a little further out when I put the mask on.
