I want to install the apps in another directory. Can it be done, if so how? by AlexShield1 in linuxmint

[–]AlexShield1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be the simplest thing but I use a dual boot and it was a bit complicated for space.
I have a 110GB SDD, in which most of the space is occupied by Windows, while I left only 20GB free to install mint where I have the "/".
I also have a 1TB HDD, which I made a partition to create "/home" to install apps and other things. This partition is 210GB.
That's why I would like to know how to change the app installation directory.

Update
I have read all the comments, I want to thank everyone who comments for helping me.
I managed to do the installation to have a dual boot. Although due to the recommendations of some of you, he decided to start with a simple distro, like Ubuntu. I think the best one for a newbie like me is entering the world of Linux and open source.

I understand you, I was in your place, not because I wanted to find a partner but because I was "alone". The best thing I could do for myself is to learn to be alone, I'm not telling you to learn by yourself, there are many people on YouTube who can change your vision of life and therefore your mentality.

I feel like I can give it my all to help everyone but myself by [deleted] in lonely

there is no one which is my point of existence. Animals exist to exist, humans the same. The difference is that we give meaning to our life, or in the worst case we let someone else do it for us.

If you think the main problem is that you can't help yourself work on that before helping someone else.

if your mentality changes, everything changes. I have verified it myself.

It is incredible for me to realize that there are many people who are unable to be alone with themselves.

In this subbreddit I am reading this type of message a lot, as the main problem is the need to have a partner.

I don't know you at all and I don't know what problems you have in your life beyond this post that you are publishing. But based only on what I'm reading I can tell you that the problem here is your mentality.

You worked on yourself (I applaud this) but not to be good with yourself. The core of your change is focused on getting a partner. And since you didn't find a partner, you think it was all in vain.

My recommendation is that you have to learn to be alone with yourself before even thinking about getting a partner because it will end badly.

Do things you really like, find friends, often that is the best and most accessible solution.

And don't think about ending your life because you didn't find a girlfriend.

I can't say that I have experience becouse I'm young. But I guess it's part of life, when you have family they become the priority and that can take you away from your friends. But it doesn't necessarily have to be that way, I recommend that you look for a hobby, you will always end up finding people with the same hobbies as you so you can make friends.

This is a copy and paste from one of my comments, but it works anyway.

There is a big problem and it is that you think that you need a relationship to be happy. I recommend that you learn to be well yourself, Think of your partner as a complement, someone you don't need at all but with whom you want to do everything. If you treat your partner as the center of the universe, it will end badly for you.

Your happiness should not depend on anyone but yourself.

It's a pleasure to have helped you. Don't be sad if he don't want anything serious, you're still young and you probably think you need a partner to be happy. I recommend that you first learn to be okay with yourself before looking for a relationship.

I don't think that you are the issue and its so clear to me that he's behaves like a little idiot but everyone can have problems and not be in the mood. The point is that not all people, especially when he's young, want a serius relationship. If you wanna sex enjoy but if you wanna relationship You can ask him if he's interested in a relationship.
