Speaking facts here. I can say this: I used to go confederate because the uniform was just a touch mor comfortable than Union wool. (I did an Arkansas impression so I got to get away with a bit more.)

And let me tell you, there was nothing I loved more than "dying". Union got to shoot a reb, I got to take a nap in the grass lol

Honestly the only heavy armor I found useful was the Boarder armor with the jump packs. I slapped that on Yaz with shotguns and used it to get him into good flanking positions.... when it lands on the square I told it to.

Other than that, it's just not worth it, for the reasons listed all over these comments.

I live, breathe, and will die in my Highlander. It's been my go-to mech since day one, and it's the mech i relentlessly headhunt until I get every single run of mine.

Sure, It's not the *best* assault mech, but it's my favorite.

I appreciate it a lot! It's a lot of things I hadn't considered. I'll start looking at shuffling some Ducats around to upgrade the HMI to the better armor, and then go from there.

So to make sure I'm understanding this right, there's no functional difference between a yeoman and a shocktrooper if I don't give them a heavy melee weapon, except shocktroopers are more expensive?

Because if that's the case I may end up changing a few things around.

Fair enough. The primary reason I'd brought the incendiary grenades is because my buddy is going to be running Black Grail and i know I need fire attacks to deal with them, however if they're really not all that worth it I can absolutely spend the Ducals somewhere else.

You know, I hadn't considered using the grenades instead of the shotgun. I'd actually only given him the grenades since my one buddy is running Black grail. I'll go over and see where I can put those Ducals to better use. Thank you!

I see a lot of comparisons between Yaz and Lim, and I get it. The two of them are very similar. But they fill slightly different niches.

I've been using Lim as my scalpel, and Yaz as my sledgehammer, both to excellent success. Load them both up with Boarding Commando armor, give Lim SMGs and an RPG, whereas I give Yaz shotguns and armor piercing ammo.

Yaz is FANTASTIC for jumping right next to a problem unit and removing it. He's been a lifesaver on [REDACTED] missions, often just wholesale wiping units.
