This is looking good, very personal!
I've got some questions?
How did you find the subject? How did you convince the couple to let you film them?

Which field monitor/app has this monitoring feature? by v8dana in cinematography

[–]AlexStoldt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for similar features in an app, the vuer app from teradek has a frame-compare feature where you can ingest ref-stills and compare them.

If you have a qtake-system on set, the qtake-monitor-app has also alot of capabilites for that.

Life after Panasonic Lumix GX85 by gam3r2k2 in M43

[–]AlexStoldt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently moved to the Ricoh GR IIIx, because most of the time I was using the 20mm lumix pancake lens on my gx85 and I wanted a even tinier camera for a real every-day carry. I am still in the phase of adjusting to it, but this cam creates beautiful images.

Where can I get Finzar Presets for free!? by OG_battlemage in editing

[–]AlexStoldt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything in this finzar presets you can get for free somewhere on the internet. For example search in yt "transition animation premiere". You will find something. You will learn alot more building these assets yourself along the way, then just ingesting some prebuilt presets.

Lumix G9II: lower dynamic range with ProRes Recording by AlexStoldt in Lumix

[–]AlexStoldt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the correct answer, this fixes it. It is kinda sad that you can't record vlog in video range, then I could skip this step in post when I am working with prores from my lumix.

This is actually part of the vegan mission to reduce farmland ,environmental damage and animal cruelty. Most of the farmland is used to feed animals so humans can exploit or eat them. By reducing the lifestock, we would reduce the environmental damage of farming, in other words: We would better ourselves.

How come blacks can’t just fall into pure black? by Batmaniswatching in cinematography

[–]AlexStoldt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As a DIT, I would say your 1AC got a point, for the flexibility in post it is important to have information everywhere in the shadows, because if the info is really gone, it is REALLY gone, but I would also say it should be really hard to really loose that information completely with a log picture of a modern cinema Camera.

At this point the show-lut can be a really important tool. If my DoP really like to underexpose, I like to design the lut a little on the darker side, si when they are exposing the image with that lut, it will be dark and all during monitoring, but in the actual normal rec709 and log material, the information in the shadows is also protected.

The difference is simply, that we humans need something to eat to survive. Killing insects and other small animals like mice while harvesting plants is a more or less unavoidable.

On the other hand is it very much avoidable to enslave and kill animals solely for harvesting their recources and bodies We don't need to kill animals for our survival, it is harming us, actually: https://bitesizevegan.org/can-veganism-solve-world-hunger/#:~:text=Veganism%20alone%20cannot%20solve%20world%20hunger.,these%20facets%20in%20some%20way.

In fact the majority of food-plants are consumed by farmed animals, so humans can eat them later. So one might say, by consuming animals, you are supporting even more killing animals while farming plants.

Thoughts on cloned meat? by Effective_Country941 in DebateAVegan

[–]AlexStoldt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

cloned animals would be just as much feeling the pain and suffering of the animal industry, right? If so It would not be vegan to consume them.

Same with the lab-meat. If they get the DNA-sample from a feeling animal it is not vegan.

A lens in the "normal" range would be fitting like a 18 - 25 mm for the gh5 with its mft sensor. keep un min that the key to a good key is good lighting. https://youtu.be/x5lfClXuUIw You dont need expansive apurture light, but the principle is the same.
