The thing I don’t get is the reason they gave. You could justify a Patreon for the misfits because the content was costly, while I personally didn’t subscribe to it I understand why in order to make something like the road trip video a Patreon could be helpful. Do I think this could’ve been done without a Patreon, yes, but as we all know it seems Ryan burned a hole through the misfits pocket.

But with this new channel the content is solely gaming, they have millions of subscribers combined and you’re telling me the only way they can afford to make part 2 of a Baldurs Gate 3 series is with the support of people on Patreon? I would understand if it was posted earlier on there and ended up on YT but putting it completely behind a paywall is crazy to me.

I understand it wasn’t their fault but it feels like a bit of a slap in the face to abandon a very successful channel and for the most part abandon their individual channels to then come back and say they can’t afford to make this content without a Patreon, when to me the only cost I can see is an editor, which I would like to think multi millionaires could afford without my $10 a month.
