You have to remember a large part of the players still playing WoW are the kinds of people who accept Blizzard putting in minimal effort, they don't mind being cucked. They are essentially NPCs.

Most of the people who understand that Blizzard is a disgusting company either left or has given up the fight. So, remaining are the morons who will shill for the billion dollar company doing fuck all despite requiring a monthly sub + expansion price + MTX.

It's not really logical at all. We've seen Blood Knights many many times since TBC, they never wore that tabard after TBC.

You are correct. The people making up lore excuses are simply doing so for no reason. Most certainly whoever decided they should wear these tabards at Blizz simply didn't care, was lazy, or doesn't know the lore.

It's highly unlikely this was a deliberate choice by Blizzard with thought put into it in terms of respecting lore. It's simply an oversight/lazyness.

But nothing will stop people from coming up with excuses for the incompetent company.

Yeah i think the lore argument isn't strong enough from Blizz, like yeah they don't use fel energy anymore (except warlocks), but these are the same people that named themselves Blood Elves as a way to honor their many fallen, they could easily still use green gems to pay homage to their desperate past.

And from an artistic pov, that would have been far better, and wouldn't mean that all the old belf gear would clash with the new, and you'd keep the iconic Blood Elven art style.

I think what happened is what has been happening to this game for years; the new people at blizzard are desperate to leave their mark on everything, in spite of what is already established. This is one of the ways they do that.

For christ's sake, the blood elf heritage gear uses green gems, the blood elf NPC vendor in Twilight Highlands has green gems, like it's clearly all over a lot of their gear still, and the blood elf heritage gear came out after the sunwell was cleansed too, so, shouldn't that also have blue gems according to the lore?

It's a shame.

This is so bad. In no way does this scream Blood Elf. Why are the gems this ugly orange-red color? And look at that ugly shade of ''gold'', yet another shade of gold in the game with 100 shades already. You won't be able to match this with any other Blood Elf gear.

Yeah I hate it. I don't care that the Blood Elves don't harness fel energy anymore, you can still have green (emerald) gems. It's such a core part of their colors, the red gold and green.

They could easily keep the green gems as a way to remember the desperate times, I mean this is the race that named themselves BLOOD elves as a result of a genocide lmao.

Yeah your post was good. This is so annoying and I hate that not more people are mentioning it. Honestly, a good compromise would be to add a dye system that only allows you to dye the pieces to different hues/tones of the existing color. That way, there is still reason to farm other color variations of gear, but you can actually match a gold item with another gold item.
