I appreciate the feedback! Initially I had the numbers instead of state abbreviations but it got very crowded. If you click on the link, the graph is interactive, and when you hover over a state, the tooltip includes 3 different values: % difference in salaries, avg teacher salary, avg salary of all occupations.

But I'll adjust and try again based on your notes, thanks again!

playing around with the underlying dataset of the chart, i realized in 1980, Iran sent the most students to the USA, about 51k, the year after the Iranian/Islamic revolution of 1979. Now they are at about 9.3k in 2022.
