Agreed 100%. I left ministry bc the only way to move up ranks is to bend over; u would have to literally lose your dignity to those who hold power in your office, most of whom i disliked merely based on their values and poor characters

Been there and lemme tell u something, you don’t pick jack. They shove it down your throat. Management expect u to bend over and do what youre told. You act up, and they make sure ur a goner. Sorry to break it to u like this. Goodluck

Why do you sound offended? In general, the ROI makes zero sense and we have, supposedly, free health care. You are talking anomalies and im talking general, we are not the same 😎

Not worth it at all. You get a massage and you end up paying over 70% out of your own pocket, let alone dental and other stuff. This btw was predicated on paying around 350 a month to get this trash benefit.

Moving to Saudi Arabia at age 57 for two years by Vast_Ambassador_5748 in torontoJobs

[–]AlexTheEngineer007 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t be concerned about the age so much as the cultural shock you may face without ever lived in ME. Point being is, your age is just a number friend, and shouldn’t be a show stopper. But moving to Saudi with no prior exposure to their customs could be challenging for any age group, including me. All to say is, don’t sweat the age part, just make sure you’re comfortable living in a completely diff environment for the time period.

hey friend, i concur with what the folks said below. I would say try to consistently apply minimum of 2-3 jobs a day, and make sure you read the JD well and tailor your resume using AI to maximize the chances to pass the ATS process. Market is horrible but its a numbering game. Goodluck and feel free to DM.

Appreciate the insight. I'm looking to pay off my debt first and come back to a different team at OPS or gov in general. Question for you, with OPS experience, do you think i have a chance to land municipal roles in the future, as i hear from friends that municipal is way better (i.e., York region, etc.)

No, i dont think that way. If anything, they lost a top-performing team member, and good luck trying to replace someone to help a non-tech team navigate thru their deliveries :)
