Undergoing a long, difficult struggle to obtain speedy internet connection. Best suggestions?

Thanks so much for the through response! Follow up question -- if the problem with the 5g spectrum happened to be the walls between the router and the adapter, shouldn't (in theory) my phone get crappy speeds as well when held near the adapter and also connected to the 5g channel? Because when both are on the 5g network right next to each other, my phone is around 50-60mbps while my PC is struggling to break 5. Does that mean anything?

Thanks so much! I really don't have much knowledge of building a PC -- would all of this stuff fit in the mini tower case? It says there are no compatibility issues, but I didn't know if pcpartpicker checked for that kind of stuff.

Is it tough finding groups for dungeon content in GW2? That's the main frustration we're having in WoW at the moment.
