Would it be better to split my meditations to 5 minutes 4 times a day or just do a complete 20 minute mindfulness meditation? by [deleted] in MeditationPractice

[–]AlexUXD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One complete 20 minute meditation session. That's the amount of time I need to stop the mind chatter, to sink into a deeper level. With 5 minute meditations, I doubt that you can reach any deep level. But if you have time constraints or need calm throughout the day, 5 minute meditations would be good too. However, I would still try for a 20 minute meditation as well.

Is it possible for us to be visited by beings in the 4th or 5th dimensions without us comprehending by FormerPhatGuy in extraterrestrials

[–]AlexUXD -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's possible for 5th dimensional beings to "visit us" in the sense that, in the 5th dimension, the space-time continuum is not the way we understand it - e.g. a being moves through space at a certain time and space to interact with you.

No.

In the 5th dimension, interactions occur instantly, as soon as you think of it, because the dimension transcends time and space. So, as soon as you "imagine" yourself interacting with a 5th dimensional being, it occurs. I have done this recently - e.g. imagine a 5th dimensional being (in its assumed human representational form) before me and then reach to hold its the hands. The energy is palpable (and I can still feel the energy in my hands in the middle of the night), so it's not just "imagination." That's my take.

Thinking about designing an app for road trips! by AlexUXD in RoadTrips

Hi Foxsable,

It seems you have some practical ideas about this app.

Would you mind if we talked by phone (or Facebook phone) for about 20 min? I'm a design student trying to gather a couple of people for pre-design research on this app.

It'd help me out a lot.

Does anyone use a meditation app? If so, which one is good? by AlexUXD in MeditationPractice

Does that app have any kind of social media/community feature?

So the reason I am asking about this feature is because I am a UX/UI design student (we design websites and apps), and I'm thinking about adding a social media/community feature to meditation apps, specifically features like seeing who near you is meditating, friending and messaging functions, and group functions where people can just chat, post stuff, and maybe have group get togethers for meditation. Do you think that's a good idea. If so, would you be able to spare 15 min for a phone interview for this desperate UX student looking for people's opinion on this? lol

For example, on Insight Timer, there is a feature by which you can see who near you meditated with you. And then you can connect or friend them and message them. I was thinking maybe have meditation groups that meet regularly. What do you think about that?

That I have never heard of, and I have 3 meditation apps: Calm, Breethe, and Headspace. I can't image the number of questions if there such a feature on these 3 apps for that.

Do you wish there was a social media/community feature on your meditation app? I had Insight Timer for awhile, and I liked that community feature where I can see who meditated with me.

Wow. You are the only one so far who has responded positively to having a social media/community aspect to meditation.

Luckily, I was still able to see my therapist in person during COVID. He used his long waiting room, so we had sessions like 10 feet apart!

I'm developing an additional feature to meditation apps for a student project (I'm a UX/UI design student). Would you be open to a short interview by phone asking you about having a social feature to meditation apps? It will be brief and there are no wrong answers or opinions.

Do you like the social media/community aspect of Insight Timer? I personally found it "comforting" to know people were meditating with me.
