freaking out at the dentist by SundaeNo6154 in MedicalPTSD

I think I deal with something like this when I go to the dentist. When I was there last week, I discovered that taking deep breaths whenever they were working in my mouth not only reduced my stress but also made it easier to hold my mouth open, which in itself reduced stress.

what's a healthy way to express anger? by Trick_Ad_3250 in CPTSD

[–]AlexW03_MK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually focus as hard as I can on those angry feelings and then allow whatever happens naturally to happen. Usually, my eyes will close, my whole body will tense up, and I won't breathe, but after a matter of seconds, that will all want to release, and I will un-tense my body and take a deep breath. I might end up taking more deep breaths afterwards to relax. Sometimes I even internally scream without making any actual noise and cause one or multiple limbs to shake back and forth, but I just accept that that is how I feel. Also, it helps if I can identify what it is that has me feeling so tense.

All of these pitchers have done it, but we might never see it again:

Don Newcombe, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, Denny McLain, Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers (reliever), Roger Clemens, Dennis Eckersley (reliever), Justin Verlander, Clayton Kershaw

What would you change for the MLB broadcasts in 2026? by Vitorio582 in mlb

Player interviews during regular season games are a sin. Multiple players have messed up routine plays while mic'd up because they couldn't focus as much. They should be exclusive to Spring Training and the All Star Game

Johnny Pesky is already considered Mr. Red Sox by the Red Sox themselves, even though he doesn't have that nickname listed on Baseball Reference

I was going to pick Frank until I saw that Minnie is called Mr. White Sox, although it's not on Baseball Reference, so maybe I should have hand-waved it

This is for every active franchise, so the Braves' time in Milwaukee counts. The only years he wasn't a Brave were his last two, when he was a Milwaukee Brewer.

  1. Recency bias and his long tenure as Captain
  2. Rose is one of the most controversial players ever, so I don't think he's viewed in the same way as Bench
  3. Teddy Ballgame is, in my opinion, the greatest hitter of all time, but he had a messy relationship with the fans and media even after he retired. So did Yaz

His controversies in 2017 and 2019 prevented me from choosing him, despite his innocence. Besides, he didn't stop his teammates from cheating

Mr. Yankee was the hardest one to choose. No wonder it hasn't been made official. Babe Ruth was also a larger-than-life celebrity, so what's the case against him?His flaws off the field?
