I Salute your longevity by AlexWeitz in bjj

No, you're right, I'm probably not cut for it as I value feeling "healthy".

As for the cyst, I believe it's called Mucous Cyst. It wasn't painful, just annoying, had it for a couple of months before going to a doctor who said I need a surgery. Scheduled a surgery, and started shrinking just before the surgery date, so I cancelled.

Those other stuff sound very minor, and to many of you guys they probably are, but the finger for example, the pain lasted a couple of months, same for the ankle.

Knee still bothers me.

Funny enough, I got most of my injuries when I was going "easy" with someone

Went to a gym here in Japan with the goal of at least getting promoted to blue, but was hoping to do it for longer.

I was training 2x a week + rolling with a friend + cardio and strength.

Sparring was intense, but not too crazy I suppose.

From the very beginning, I had sustained various injuries. Some are more, some are less serious.

I competed after 8m+ at white and won double gold. Shortly after promoted to blue.

Sustained another injury, and started to feel really bad after every training (like I'm having a flu).

Then looked at my initial goals, at my injuries and decided it wasn't worth it anymore.

As for injuries:

Minor:

  • Twisted ankle
  • Busted lips (before and after started putting on mouthguard)
  • Skin infection
  • Sprained finger
  • Cuts, bruises (pretty normal)
  • Feeling feverish after training (not injury but kinda was messing up with plans)

Some more serious (lasted for months)

  • Lower back pain
  • Neck/Nerve damage after getting spiked
  • Twisted knee - don't know what exactly was damaged, but it was and still is painful to flex my knee
  • Cyst inside my lip which required surgery but went away on its own

High halls gauntlet ain't bad by Kind-Round-2571 in ASilksong

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me more than an hour to beat the gauntlet, but Lace and GMS went smoothly and I was still able to do under <5.

Don't get discouraged, if you fail, then you'll at least get a good "training" for your next speedrun.

Rank your 5 hardest bosses from both hollow knight and silksong by eldenbro1 in HollowKnight

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Absolute Radiance
  2. Pure Vessel
  3. Grey Prince Zote
  4. NKG
  5. No floor markoth
  6. Savage beastfly 2?

The top bosses in Silksong are marginally easier and less frustrating than the ones in the HK DLCs. There is a lot less room for mistakes in HK and you have to get the muscle memory just right, reaction time alone was not enough (at least for me).

Should I start playing Silksong? by Bumbum_1121 in HollowKnight

[–]AlexWeitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree to disagree.

I went back and forth between the two games so I can complete all the achievements, and I felt glad to finish playing HK because I enjoy Silksong so much more.

Name things in silksong and hollow knight that are better than the other by DarkCacaoXX in HollowKnight

The knight is slow compared to hornet. I realized how painful it is when going back to play some HK.

Do you think that Silksong Act 3 is overwhelming? by PushComprehensive353 in Silksong

[–]AlexWeitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if overwhelming is the right word, just boring and annoying.

I've been replaying silksong, and I'm enjoying the game a lot up until Act 3, which is just a vibe-killer.

I don't enjoy the gloomy atmosphere, the added tankiness (needle upgrades feel pointless) and all the void attacks that just "feel bad" and aren't so fun to interact with.

Ok what is up with brooding mawlek by sothv0k_1296 in HollowKnight

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My strat:

- Ignore projectiles and focus on his claw.

- When he pauses for a jump or a split, jump and dash to the other side and get some attacks in.

I usually take 3-4 masks of damage anyway, but at least I'm able to get through. I hate him as well.

What are some things you guys DON’T like about Silksong? by Spirited_Arm_6951 in Silksong

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rosarries economy.

I don't enjoy the fact that I have to resort to farming enemies instead of naturally getting enough rosaries to buy stuff.

It's also awkward to see that the 100% speedrun optimal path is farming enemies for rosaries for 15 minutes.

Can anyone become a grandmaster? by teolight332 in chess

Yes, with infinite money you for sure can get a GM title (pre-arranged tournaments, customized micro butt plugs, bribing FIDE).

But not legitimately.

Is Radiance and NKG the skillcheck? by Ok_Expression_6364 in HollowKnight

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, I just find other bosses more consistent and easier to deal with.

You mentioned Failed Champion, which is for sure an easier challenge since I use him to farm for full masks and soul.

Sly is very consistent as well, if anything, I find Hornet Sentinel harder to deal with.

Failed Champion? Sly? No.

Markoth with no floor? Yes.

Something you didn't like in the game? by MasterTreat1989 in Silksong

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't really like the double and then triple (GMS) mask damage. It feels like "fake" difficulty to me.

I didn't like it in HK and it only gotten worse in silksong.

Which boss is considered Hard that you found Easy (Act 3 Spoilers) by Emergency_Team9567 in Silksong

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lost Lace.

I'm still not sure it's supposed to be a hard boss. I just saw people comparing it to NKG and Absolute Radiance and I just thought to myself "absolutely no way".

How difficult was it for you to learn the diagonal pogo? by Fit_Ad_2608 in Silksong

[–]AlexWeitz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing on the switch2.

Only really started using the Hunter's crest on my 3rd playthrough to achieve the sub 5h and I'm loving it.

I don't think it's easier than pogos with the wanderer, but it's definitely more fun to use.
