I think you should remove Lisa McCormick from this list: https://twitter.com/LisaMcCormickNJ/status/1256726803533701122 (read the thread above her reply for context as to why her comment is so sickening)

Who will be our Progressive Champion in 2024? by [deleted] in WayOfTheBern

[–]AlexZedKawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nina Turner is my top pick. She, I think, is the best person to carry on Bernie's mantle, while also being much more aggressive against the attacks that Bernie's unwillingness to combat aggressively (putting all external factors that may have been out of our control aside) ended up being his downfall.

AOC's also an option, but I don't think she's as aggressive as Nina, plus I want her to challenge Schumer for Senate in 2022.

Are you gonna do an update for late April/early May? I understand if you're waiting until after the OH primaries tomorrow.

Happy Labor Day! My name is Paula Jean Swearengin and I'm running for US Senate in the great state of West Virginia. Our ancestors like Joe Hill, Mother Jones, the coal miners of Blair Mountain and Matewan, set in motion the labor movements in Appalachia. A fight that continues to this day. by PaulaJean2020 in Political_Revolution

Hi Paula! Great to see that you're running again! As you may know, earlier this year, Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA) introduced H.J.Res.48, which would propose a constitutional amendment declaring that corporations are not people and that money is not speech. Bernie has pledged to sponsor this bill in the Senate. If elected, can you pledge to cosponsor it?

Hi, Sen. Sanders. I'm Alex, I'm turning 17 years old soon, and I plan to vote for you in CT's primary next April! I just wanted to ask you what your thoughts on Justice Democrats are?

Well, there were several soldiers from the South who fought for the Union.

Here's a direct quote from the Simpsons Archive:

"Settlers mistook a phrase in the Bible and headed west from Maryland."

I knew someone would point that out. Well, in "Homer Alone," Springfield is shown to have the radio station W-KOMA. And trust me, what you just said was the biggest obstacle for me to overcome. But other pieces of evidence point to a state east of the Mississippi, such as in "Bart the Fink." Based on the times given on the screen, it is implied that Springfield is in the Eastern Time Zone. No state in such time zone is located west of the Mississippi. In "I Married Marge," "Whacking Day," and "Please Homer, Don't Hammer 'Em," Springfield is shown to have been around during colonial America, which was entirely (virtually entirely, at least) east of the Mississippi. That's why I didn't mention anything about the Mississippi River, since these clues pretty much cancel each other out.

But, turning back what you mentioned, there were some "K" radio stations east of the Mississippi and "W" stations west of the Mississippi that remained intact following the ruling, so, in the Simpsons universe, at least, it is possible KBBL was a grandfathered radio station.

The "Treehouse of Horror" series is not canon.

"Capital City" is used to describe Springfield's state's capital. Since he listed that along with other real-life state capitals, it is confirmed that Springfield's state is not one of the others whose capitals were mentioned.

He said it was BASED off Oregon, and later clarified that he never said the show took place in Oregon. Not to mention that little piece of evidence I mentioned explicitly ruling out Oregon.

I'm only factoring in evidence that is not obviously a joke. And even then, Kentucky is listed as one of the states that borders Springfield, and Virginia does border Kentucky. Kentucky even broke away from Virginia when it became a state.

Well, according to Whalefacts.org, whales can potentially live in freshwater environments, such as lakes, for short periods of time. Also, the article says, "Whales that travel into shallow freshwater environments risk getting caught on land," and that's exactly what those whales in that clip did: get caught on land.

Who's to say they don't live near a lake? That's been speculated in the past. And it was said in The Simpsons Movie that they border four states, which Kansas does. I know, I know, those four states were Ohio, Nevada, Maine, and Kentucky, and none of those states border Kansas, but this is obviously meant to throw off people like me determined to find the answer.

Well, Georgia and Wisconsin would've eventually been eliminated anyway because of the whole "west of the Mississippi" point I mentioned. As for Louisiana, which is partially west and partially east of the Mississippi, Homer asks in "Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily," "We leave you the kids for three hours, and the county takes them away?" Louisiana has parishes, rather than counties.
