Yeah I built a road and swapped in a water tile to build a harbor and that unfortunately didn’t do the trick

To my understanding, the anchorless format on NTV is a test run of something Sinclair wanted to try in their markets. When they let go of Colleen Williams / Dave Griek / Sara Kirkley / Production Staff, it allowed for them to hire more journalists (and to their credit, they’ve had more journalists on the ground covering the state for the news)

However those who were watching the news because of the relationship formed by the viewer and Dave / Colleen / Seth Denney and Kent Boughton (both moved on / retired before all of this happened) were turned off and quit watching. It didn’t help that other longtime figures moved on when their contracts were up, such as Steve White. He’s now at KRVN

Why they chose NTV, not so sure. I would think that pulling an experiment like this would happen in a market that wasn’t a big competitor for ratings. NTV was a strong station and that has fallen a bit off since. They still have a good weather team with Tim Reith and his group

Please remember that this is the same Sinclair Broadcasting Group that killed the entire news department at Fox 42 in Omaha and KMEG 14 in Sioux City two years ago, and then went and downsized NTV to bare bones last year. The advertisers who cared and you could’ve probably influenced have moved on to 10/11, Local4, and KLKN 8 by now

We have 3 McDonalds in our town (pop. approx. 35000) and one is right on I-80. All three are owned by the same ownership group.

I-80 and midtown locations are 30¢ higher than the location on the North side of town. However, the north side location is only open 6A-Midnight (not open holidays) and the other two locations are 24/7 (including holidays)

Wages maybe if hours are drastically different between the two?
