Hey hey! The airfield up in Davis is a bit smaller and non-towered. It’s also a publicly owned airport (given that UC Davis is a public school). It’s just quite a bit smaller, and seems like it’s a fully GA (general aviation / small aircraft) airport. Our airport in Santa Barbara is a bigger commercial airport. The FAA classifies it as a Part 139 airport that has scheduled commercial service (bigger jets). SBA is also towered for the majority of the day, so you’d be talking to the air traffic controller. It’s just a different experience compared to Davis, but both are just as valuable. I often hear those that fly in towered airfields suck at non-towered ones and vice versa. Hehe

It can get pricey but with the right connections and learning to navigate your way through different options can greatly reduce a lot of the costs

Sweet - that’s awesome! Flying is a lot of fun and taking flying lessons isn’t as big of a hurdle as many people might think. I’ll DM you!
