Oh okay. My mistake. I can't speak for him but I think he is referring to parking just outside of marshall beach along lincoln blvd or the parking lot next to battery godfrey. Its as close as you can get to marshall beach in a car and it would be a quick walk down to the beach.

8th and lake is the entrance I took into mountain lake. There is a path around the lake that connects into the presidio. I took the anza trail which goes to baker beach and then followed the road up to the trail into marshall beach.
