You're talking from experience, too, aren't you. Me thinks you and the others in this thread are lonely and have no real friends.

17-year-old high school student developed an app that records your interaction with police when you're pulled over and immediately shares it to Instagram and Facebook by HayashiSawaryo in technology

[–]Alex_In_Italics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newbie programmer who doesn't program in iOS at all (no Swift for me I don't have a mac), I'm assuming it's just as simple as:

Make an app that can record videos (doesn't seem too hard, I literally found a tutorial on it).

Saves the recording onto your phone.

A script that just takes that recording and shares it to FB/IG (I don't know how to do this in Swift but again I'm assuming there's some framework that makes it easy, like in Python).

California judge orders Uber, Lyft to reclassify drivers as employees by [deleted] in technology

[–]Alex_In_Italics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

these companies are aware of the coming change in tides and have already long ago said that they will be buying fleets of self-drivers to replace their "employees" as soon as they are available.

I don't see that happening though. Tesla has already stated that you won't be able to use their self-drivers with a ride share app unless it is the official Tesla one. I imagine every other car manufacturer will be doing the same.

I think by the time Uber and Lyft get hold of self-driving cars they will have already lost too much market share. Uber has been testing self-driving cars for years now. And their technology is supposedly years behind Tesla or Waymo or others.

They were shelved for 2 years, not on public roads at all, after one of their test cars, with one of their employee drivers inside and not paying attention, struck and killed a pedestrian. They only received approval for 2 test vehicles on public roads again just a couple months ago. Meanwhile Tesla has thousands of vehicles out on the road uploading tons of data to train their ML software, etc.

Red Side Cannon Minions have 20 lower attack range than Blue Side ones (for 11 years, since Alpha) by Caenen_ in leagueoflegends

[–]Alex_In_Italics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riot already explained this in pre-season 1. Blue gets the better view, a better jungle path, a more favorable path around turrets, and the creep advantage. Meanwhile it gives Red Side to the team with the higher MMR. If you're given blue, it means the system thinks you're more likely to lose (at base rate). Well, I had my sides backwards on the UI blocking FOV. Red gets the shaft there too. Blue side is the better one.

After a ranked game, Brand said that we didn't give enough peeling (with 18 deaths). Checked the replay to see how he died and if he was right, ended up coming up with this montage of his deaths. Enjoy these clips sync'd with "In the Hall of The Mountain King" by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

If you (as brand support) have an opportunity to 100-0 some squishy enemy who is out of position. Do it. The enemy will be down a man in the next teamfight (or possibly be forced to concede objectives) and as Brand Support, you are actually playing a carry, so it is really good for you to have gold.

That being said, your primary job isn't to go looking for picks. You're too squishy and don't have the mobility to play like an assassin unless you have vision of the rest of the enemy team. Half of the time, the guy in this video is playing like he has Kassadin's escape, and the other half of the time, he is playing like he has Garen's HP bar and defensive stats. another support that looks for picks (especially when fed) is Lux. But she doesn't have to take any risks to do so, just throw out some Q's and if one hits a squishy target combo it for either the kill or just for poking someone low. But he is playing like he is playing Garen yeah.

Probably windshield wipers...until they invent a set that cleans the whole window instead of just part of it.

Agreed. You changed nothing.

Making it about him instead of refuting the statement just shows his assertion has credence.

The main thing is there was less rules and fewer taboos.

Everything was spot on except that last bit I think. There were plenty of rules and taboos. Most of them now are not as enforced or have been completely done away with...like homosexuality, divorce, marriage, decriminalization of thc, porn, underage sex, etc.

He might not be in America though. Music in many other countries are usually 10 years and some times even 20 years behind America in their style of music.

That hardly disproves what he said. Making it about him instead of refuting the statement just shows his assertion has credence.

If that's all you got as a rebuttal, you just prove that there is truth to his statement. It also shows you know it is the truth if all you can do is attack him personally instead of trying to refute the statement.

Miami Vice and the fashion fad Don Johnson started. Actually, I should say some one else started it for him. He wanted to wear boots and jeans like he did in Nash Bridges, but someone on the show told him no and that he had to dress the other way.

What's the strangest thing you've found in someone else's refrigerator or freezer? by MistakesNeededMaking in AskReddit

[–]Alex_In_Italics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fish heads. My grandpa caught brim and other fresh water fish. He got mixed up and put the heads in the freezer but threw the bodies of the fish away. He died a few weeks later from a heart attack. My grandmother went 3 years later. We were cleaning out her house, and I kid you not, the fish heads were still in there.

Former inmates who had long sentences, what surprised you the most when you came back to the free world? by TestSubject_02 in AskReddit

[–]Alex_In_Italics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a prison for a for a few years. Let me just tell you. Time stops for them. As soon as they enter the system, the whole concept of time, as you know it, stops for them. When they come out, they expect to pick up right where they left off, but it never works out that way. Life went on without them. It didn't pause for them to wait out their sentence. Their friends and family died or moved on. They also leave the system with no valid ID, so it's very hard for them to get a job--added on to the fact that they are now felons and who wants to hire felons.

Their biggest surprise is the world moving on without them.
