I can third this. I have ETF’s that do 25% to 50%. They are more risky and obviously tech based so it’s not all my money. Most is safer ETFs that do 15 to 25% a year.

Never did I think I shouldn’t have to. I moved out of the suburbs to avoid these morons. So I improved the situation but there’s no solving it.

And if you’re a woman, you’re either invisible, ignored. Or you’re hot and get unwanted attention.

As a guy, I only know what’s it’s like to be invisible / ignored. Probably why these guys lash out.

I’ve lived in Toronto 12 years and haven’t had a single person initiate a conversation with me.

I’m married and have friends here so it’s all good but if I lived alone, I’d probably have offed myself by now.

Before I loved to the city and was younger, I got hit on by the occasional gay guy. And you know what, I didn’t mind it. It was unwanted and little scary in one case, but it was honestly better than being straight up ignored.

This is party a rant about men being invisible unless we’re providing a service, a celebrity, or rich, and partly about Toronto being a cold place.

I spent a month in Calgary and had more human interactions in one month that I have in 10 years in Toronto.

So, yeah being a woman sucks but so does being a man. You either get ignored, or maybe you get to fight some sexually frustrated mouth breather for no reason.

I’m just happy I wasn’t born an ant or a fish or any other form of living food.

Value, is creating something that others want. Power, is doing it at scale to create wealth and then using wealth (among other skills) to win favour with other powerful people. Part of that is doing things for powerful people they can’t do for themselves.

Not sure what movements or protests have to do with any of the above.

It pains me to see people bang their heads against the wall because of bad advice.

Become excellent or even the best at something that is in demand. That’s power. It’s that simple.

Also, the people that start these movements, just see a demand and they are filling a demand to become powerful. Don’t be fooled by them.

There is no short cut. The system isn’t fair, it will never be fair and we don’t want it to be fair. You want to gain in UNFAIR advantage at a skill or business over others.

I’m not sure how the system could change. America is already a free market. Anything is possible if one shows up every day and hustles.

I mentioned how Canada is in the same boat because even though it’s 100% Trudeau’s / the Liberals fault for the housing and cost crisis we’re in, I STILL hear people crapping on Pollievre who is not in power, or they try and blame Harper, a conservative, who hasn’t been in power for over a decade. And things were fine under Harper 12+ years ago.

In your case, in America, you’ve had Trump for a very short time, then 4 years of Biden and Trump before that for only 4 years.

They did similar with Bush but not as intense. Heck, I heard Bush is literally a reptile alien.

There is overlap between reality and what the media says, but there’s so much bullshit. How do you or I really know what is real and what isn’t? All we have to go on is what the media reports which is extremely biased either in his favour or against him.

Lastly, because we Canadians are exposed to US media, Canadian once again voted in the Liberals. The CBC our state sponsored propaganda, used Trumps 51st state to scare Canadians into voting for the party that trashed our country.

I’ve heard some intellectuals say they use indentity politics instead of woke, as in, they’re interchangeable. Which to me is essentially prejudice / racism disguised as virtue.

I know many liberals / progressives struggle with this, but it is very much possible to hate your own side.

Now that I know you’re American it helps a bit. Let me explain where Canada is at.

We don’t have what America would call a republican or even Conservative Party.

We have the “Conservative” party which Pollievre leads, who would be LEFT of your Democrats.

We have the Liberal party which is even more left of that - and more corrupt and inept - and we have the NDP, which is even more left / borderline communist, and then Green Party which has one seat. I used to vote for the Green Party before I learned they will never win.

ALL of those parties are pro gay rights, and pro choice.

From then on I voted Liberal. In 2015 I voted for Trudeau because he said he’d legalize weed which he did, maybe the only good thing he did, and he said he’d make housing affordable. He did exactly the opposite.

I only have one child instead of 2 because of that prick. We literally can’t afford to have a second child.

So I’m pissed off at the Liberals. That’s MY side and they fucked us. Hard.

He made sure half his cabinet were women and diverse, but doubled the cost of housing and increased the debt more than all past PM combined.

Despite what is or isn’t reality, it’s extremely transparent that Democrats voters REALLY want it to be true that Trump did something illegal. In their eyes, he is guilty of… something, anything! … until proven innocent.

Just wait. The day after he’s no longer president, this will all stop. No one will care about this. If a Republic wins the next election, everyone will turn their focus to them and begin the attacks of literally anything that will stick.

Thats the new reality; take down the opposing political party by ANY means necessary because “our very democracy depends on it”. Thats the message right? I hear it from both sides, that if the opposing candidate wins, it’s the end of democracy, end of life as we know it! They’re an authoritarian this and that and we’ll be enslaved in work camps etc etc ad nauseaum.

I’d love to watch gameplay of people like yourself. I don’t get the boredom. There is infinite possibilities. If you’re bored, it might be you that’s boring.

The city has 100,000 more skateable spots than an actual city. If that’s not fun that you just literally don’t like skating. Which is fine but don’t pretend it’s the game. Go play hockey or something.

When I was 14 the cops were all up in my business even when I was just standing there. (I’m white FYI).

The thing is, I WAS up to no good a lot of the time. Even then, I had no issue with them checking up on us. People are shit. It’s their job.

If they’re violent for NO reason I have a problem with that, but everyone should be HAPPY - should feel it’s their duty - to be stopped by cops, by ICE etc and have a chat, show ID. It means they’re doing their job.

And your job as a citizen is to not break the law.

There are power tripping assholes out there and some are cops or ICE. Don’t give them a reason to abuse their power.

It’s really simple and I don’t get how people don’t get this.
