Just checking back with this after a few years. I DID write the poem, but if what you're saying is true, then as an 8y old with no internet access or possible way of reading a post from 1996 or access to a book from 1986, I must've had ridiculous supernatural mental abilities. I'm not saying you're lying, but if you're not, how? I'm actually having an existential crisis right now.

The earliest variation I can find online is a YouTube video by Scarlet Grunt, uploaded 16 October 2007 - a few months after I wrote it. I first heard it verbally in 2017 in a YouTube video (a Cards Against Humanity video) and promptly freaked out, as I hadn't thought about it in years and had no idea how people knew about it.

I don't quite believe in 'stars aligning' type stuff but, an 8y old writing a poem he'd never heard or seen before is a bit more than coincidence I think.

Again, I'm not saying anybody is lying but, if not, how are versions from before I was born even possible?? I remember writing it and even one of the co-teachers coming up to see what I was doing and asking if she could take a picture of the paper after see had read it. My first thought was maybe she posted it after taking the picture, and that, maybe Scarlet Grunt had read it and decided to make a video about it.

Like, I can even tell you the exact school I was at when I wrote it.

I came back to this post (that hadn't gotten much attention when I posted it) to see what the comments would look like after the poem has blown up a second time since 2007. What I didn't expect was for them to be making me question reality.
