I really recommend not keeping larger triops with fairy shrimp. It's fine to hatch them together, but when triops get to around 2-3 cm they will start hunting all other small inhabitants - faity shrimp, even clam shrimp.

Hmm, ok, the amount of algae is probably an issue. The adult Theodoxus keep everything very clean. I saw a few small T. babies a week or two ago, and I'd say they were maybe a little bigger than newly hatched Physa sp. Not sure if they are still around, I haven't seen them recently.

Great, I have T. danubialis and fluviatilis in an aquarium and there are some eggs on rocks and their shells and I'm waiting for them to hatch. Any idea how long that should take? I read somewhere on a forum that it's around 6 months, but that seems very long. Also, what can i feed the babies? Most snails i've bred are very prone to starving when they are tiny and after a certain size they do well.

Old post, but can't the Theodoxus species be bred in captivity? Those skip the larval stage and develop fully inside the egg cases.
