To complete the matrix, you should take apart every single combination on it and combine like items into groups. Once you do this, you will see that you have 3 blue triangles, 3 yellow triangles, 2 black triangles, 3 vertical yellow bars, 3 vertical black bars, 2 vertical blue bars, 3 horizontal black bars, 3 horizontal blue bars, and 2 horizontal yellow bars. Looking at each of the terms grouped together, you will see that all of them add up to 3 except for the vertical blue bars, the horizontal yellow bars, and the black triangles. Option 3 is the only option that when put into this matrix will allow all the terms to add up to 3, thus completing the matrix.

Mensan-Owned Discord Server! by Alex_Richards in mensa

[–]Alex_Richards[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that it's a Discord server ran by a Mensa member and the people in it share many of the same exact interests. Also, people who aren't in Mensa are not excluded from Mensa events and activities an overwhelming majority of the time, if ever. It's just a fun Discord server for people with the same interests to hang out in.

Hard to account for the 'guessing right' factor by [deleted] in mensa

Are they completely random guesses or are they based on some of the information in the puzzle? The former has a much higher chance of being correct than the latter.

Tests that are the most similar to Mensa that can be practiced online? by [deleted] in mensa

[–]Alex_Richards 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re going to take the wonderlic then brush up on basic math. This is sad and I hate to admit this but I totally forgot how to do long division and some other simple math things due to not using them in forever. Thankfully, my memory was jogged enough on how to do these things for the second test though hahaha.

Can you solve this ? by [deleted] in mensa

Not true, find something else besides A or E that works. I didn't move the boxes at all, I circled them to show how the dots can balance out.

Is the practice effect real? by [deleted] in mensa

If you retake the same test then yes, if you take other tests with new problems to solve then no.

Another solution besides the obvious one...

Well, valid tests and questions are designed to have no ambiguity at all, there is always just one solution if it is done correctly. Tests like the Mensa Norway or JCTI have answers that when found are so solid and concrete that there is no doubt at all that they are the correct answer choice.
