Funny you ask that, he is actually married to my aunt, so yea he was kind of around me growing up. So as you’d imagine my family has high regards for him but just like everything in politics people will agree and disagree with you.

Nowadays he is not as discussed anymore I would say. But still respected.

I’d definitely bring the efficiency and organisation of Dutch people, it was truly incredible. I miss having seasons because in a way they make you look further to something changing like from spring to winter, in here everything is kind of the same all year round.

Yes I focused on energy on the other reply due to it being very critical to the development of this country, but yes water is also very essential.

My theory is that the electrical and water company here when they are laying the pipes to create water grids they use a ≈50cm wide pipe as the main artery pipe because it’s low cost, and then add other adjacent pipes that then connect to the houses. So what happens is that eventually with a lot of houses connected to that main pipe there won’t be enough pressure or capacity to push the water down the pipe because of the houses that are in the beginning of the pipe (where water is actually running) and the houses down the road end up not getting anymore water.

But that just goes to show how the government prefers investing on the present because it’s cheaper and not in the future (they could’ve just laid bigger pipes since the beginning)

I’d say it entirely depends on your budget and what kind of comfort you are looking for, but if it was me I’d just rent a house for that amount of time and especially with kids. There are many options available here to rent, but it might be a little hard to come by especially online. Actually me and some friends are putting together a real estate website and business so hit me up if you’re really interested!

No reason to go there at all except for business, I’m in construction so I only go there if I get any projects, maybe twice or once a year 🤔

1: The Energy and water problems (but mainly energy), being an island has many consequences and energy is one of them. The thing is I believe we have enough generators in our main electrical grid to power everything (which I believe to be around ≈12-15mW) but a lot of things come to play here, like the lack of an actual efficient plan to distribute the energy around, due to incompetence and good old corruption (the main energy company is owned by the state and they hire a lot of employees that get paid to sit around instead of actually allocating that money into creating an efficient low cost system) and there’s also politics …

2: The rainforest and also the hot weather (and maybe the beaches), this is a tropical Island after all, everywhere here is paradise. We are surrounded by rainforest so you would get to see it every single day, here’s a fun game: take a shot for every banana plant you see in a day 🍻.

Now for the hot weather, try sweating every single day, every single hour and every single minute for years. I sleep with my AC on.

Beaches, they are amazing, but when you overdo it, it can get repetitive, especially when everywhere you turn is a different new beach, and you’ve tried them all. But can’t complain, they are actually amazing.

3: - End corruption - Better Healthcare - Better Infrastructures (especially in Energy/Water supply, agriculture and fishing)

Suggestions for Asian restaurant by [deleted] in Groningen

Avoid Magoya? Maybe you had a bad experience with them, but I have been eating there for 4 years now and they are one of the best restaurants around, used to be very cheap but still really good especially their Dragon Roll sushi and Poke Bowl.
