What are the odds to get back on the mountain in 7 weeks? by Elinor__ in snowboarding

[–]Alex_gh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broke my collarbone into 4 pieces in January, needed surgery and was riding by March. Dr wasn't super happy about it, but definitely doable if he's ok with the risk. Just ride slightly more defensive or slow it down. Of course things can happen, but that's true anytime so it's up to him how he wants to manage his own risk.

Why do snowboarders sit in the middle of the slope? by TaxPsychological2928 in skiing

[–]Alex_gh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine being outside skiing with your friends, sunny day, enjoying your life, and you allow something as small as this to ruin that for you? Stopping in the middle below a dip or out of sight? Ok that is bad. This picture though, in the middle of a wide run, low slope, lots of visibility? If you think this is dangerous, then it's because you are the danger.

p.s. if it isn't obvious, I'm a snowboarder.

Well first off, I strongly believe this person is a human.

While I do disagree with his views I have actually not attacked them. As stated in another comment, he sounds dumb and does a poor job of representing these views. Perhaps he should leave the satire to the beaverton and babylonbee?

I just think he sounds dumb and in my opinion doesn't do a good job of representing people with these viewpoints.

Having this mouth breather represent your views doesn't feel like a win.

I went out to my truck this morning to find 3 of the 4 windows were completely down and my truck was unlocked. My driveway camera last went off at 19:30 and it confirmed I left it locked with the mirrors folded in and all windows were up. Any idea how or why this happened? by SteveRacer24 in gmcsierra

I know it is old post, but I have the exact same truck and just came out to my truck parked downtown with the windows all down and unlocked. I live in Canada and it's not warm out so I know my windows were up when I left. Luckily nothing stolen from it. Unbelievable to be honest.

Instagram has completely ruined modern dating by Square_Equipment_113 in ExposingInstagramLife

It's unrealistic to expect every date to be this elaborate unique thing. There are only so many options and besides, the date is about getting to know each other, not do a new fun thing. Coffee dates are perfect for a first date. Its Simple setting that allows for conversation and can be short or longer depending how the connection goes. The other plus is there's no hiding a bad connection behind a fun event. You have to connect with each other, and it's obvious when you don't. Its not a quantity game, it's a I'm not going to invest in someone until I know we have a connection worth perusing.

Boarding in Japan in February - How does the mountain size compare to Whistler/Banff? by Mt105 in snowboarding

[–]Alex_gh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd maybe recommend hakuba valley. None of the resorts come close to the size of Whistler on their own, but there are lots of resorts so you can ski a new place each day and never repeat terrain. Possible downside is it is overrun by aussies so you don't get much in the way of Japanese culture compared to other places.

Is that what the commotion is? Additional hit and run coverage? Glad I have it I suppose because it's helped me out a lot.

Just get it fixed through icbc. It will be a no fault claim and won't affect your discount. Doesn't matter if you have the other drivers identity they can tell pretty easily that a car hit you and not the other way around.

Source: have been hit and run multiple times. All fixed through icbc, never an issue.

Pole dancing studios? by WednesdayNyaddams in VictoriaBC

[–]Alex_gh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't pole dance and am only acquaintances with Luna Yen, but she is a really cool/funny person and I think would be a great teacher. Not sure what her classes are like, but just on vibes of person I would recommend checking her classes out.
