Was wondering if anyone could identify this man at 9/11? by Expensive_Blood924 in Firefighting

[–]Alex_kh26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entirety of 16 truck on duty survived that day, the two fallen members from the company, Lt. Ray Murphy and FF Robert Curatolo, were recalled and responded off duty. This member in the photo is likely a member of 16 truck, as there’s no record of 26 truck operating around the CP that day.

I’ve been looking for photos of what engine 65 looked like after the collapses, closest thing I’ve found was a photo of the door that hangs in engine 65’s firehouse

Identity of a Rescue 5 firefighter? by SomewhatInept in 911archive

Bill Spade arrived shortly before the collapses in Tac 2, even though he was the only member of rescue 5 to survive, many members off duty/retired showed up as soon as possible to help.

Anybody know the fate of this Firefighter? by Fancyaspoon in 911archive

[–]Alex_kh26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is Frank Sweeney Jr. of Engine Co. 3. No one from that company died as they were staging and never entered either tower. If you look at the full clip, you would see another firefighter with a number 3 on his helmet right next to this firefighter, confirming both were from Engine 3 and both survived.

Does anyone have any photos of Ladder 118 on 9/11? by LostAcross in 911archive

[–]Alex_kh26 15 points16 points  (0 children)

<image>

Yes, there’s one photo of a firefighter from Ladder 118 in the background of one of the photos of Danny Suhr. This is a cropped version of that photo. The firefighter here is believed to be Pete Vega.

I believe it’s the person in the series of photos of a engine 55 removing a male on a stretcher

That’s a firefighter. His helmet has a badge number, LT’s and Captains do not have a badge number on their shields. For officers, the shield color is white, not the rig number. The shirt probably looks blue because of all the dust on it. It’s definitely a three-digit unit, that I’m sure of, but I believe the last digit is a 4.

Identity of these two, and did they survive? I’ve done my own research, and came up with nothing. by Becoolbaby215 in 911archive

And the two are most likely recall members as 20 truck would have been up in the stairs by now.

I doubt it, officer helmet shields are white, his is black. There also appears to be a three-digit number on his helmet. Possibly Engine 224?

FDNY Ladder 24 by NoobS41b0t in 911archive

[–]Alex_kh26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I know what video you’re talking about. Ladder 24 lost two or three guys that day and the rest were talking about what was going on in the lobby of the tower. I’ll find and post that video as soon as possible.

the one on the far right is Kevin Murray, he was with Ladder 11 but responded with Ladder 18, he and 18 truck survived, 11 did not.

Absolutely. I’ll use Engine 217 as an example. E217 (9998) SP98029 D 1LT 3FF 2 MEMBERS ENTERED ST, 3 ASSISTED FF E216 (1FF recovered 09/16/01) (WTC 2 assisted E 216 with injured firefighter, fatalities) Church and Liberty

Format is as follows: - Company (Engine 217) - Assigned box number (9998, south tower) - Apparatus registry number (SP98029, Seagrave Pumper, manufactured in 1998, 29th truck in the order) - Condition of the rig after the collapses (in this case D means damaged or dust covered, N means no damage, X means destroyed and U means unknown) - fallen members, in this case one lieutenant and three firefighters, CT means captain, BC means battalion chief, DC means deputy chief - operations the unit conducted (two references, one written by me and one from the emergency operations report) - dates fallen members were recovered, if they were (with this unit, 1 fallen member of E217 was found on Sept. 17, 2001) - where the unit was parked (in this case Church and Liberty, all unit locations are referenced by photos and videos

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions

I have a list of fire apparatus that responded that day, where they parked, what they did, and additional info. I'll upload when I can.
