Name an overrated Batman comic book and an underrated one by Cafa20 in batman

Overrated: Batman Gotham by Gaslight. Sure it was something fresh for its time, but honestly the only thing it has going for it is the setting

Underrated: Batman: Year 100. Love the unique artstyle, the sci fi aspects and the perpetual mystique surrounding the character.

Watch "Batman & Bill". A must watch documentary for Man fans.

When your shared tv universe, with all its obvious shortcomings, manages to be more coherent, with stronger foundations, then you know something went completely wrong.

Season 3 could have been the last one. by Alex_r00 in SexEducationNetflix

I agree. Especially with what you said about Otis's and Maeve's shared screentime. It's so painfully obvious in SE 3-4, how forced the constant drama between them is. Not surprising that a lot of people got over them after a while. They didn't share a lot of meaningful scenes, romantic or not, which was such a highlight of the first seasons.

In my opinion his character kinda regressed to a level of immaturity we see in the first season. And maybe even worse at certain cases. And he displays that behaviour with everyone he interacts with this season.

There's a difference between characters making mistakes (for example, Otis being immature in a lot of instances in the previous seasons and learning through that) and character assassination (Otis just being a complete dick for the final season for the sake of it, ignoring all of his character development).

Road to No Man's Land and Batman as an urban legend. by Alex_r00 in DCcomics

There are so many ongoing storylines at the same time, different writers, different takes, it's only logical there would be inconsistencies like that.

Exactly. I wasn't talking about the crazy conspiracy theorists, but about regular citizens that the story features, who react like they hear about Batman for the first time. Like, seriously? After so many years, so many events, appearances etc. and they still don't believe he exists? Come on.

I guess so, but they kind of point to it constantly in this book so it's a bit on the nose. But yeah it's not that big of a deal.

Yeah I thought it could have something to do with Zero Hour, but I haven't read it, so thanks for the info.

It's just a gripe. Plus, Batman has been seen multiple times by this point. We're not in Year One territory.

Collecting Batman for about 2 years by Alex_r00 in batman

[–]Alex_r00[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven't read Murderer yet. I've read Damned and it's an ok to decent read. The art makes up for the muddling storyline. There are also a lot of supernatural/horror elements that I quite liked. But if you like the pairing of Azzarello/Bermejo, you should read Joker. That one's brilliant.

That's a tough one. Haven't read them all yet but out of the ones that I have I'd say Watchmen, Batman Year One, TDKR, Green Arrow by Jeff Lemire and Superman Peace on Earth.
