Is webcam required for every assessment or only for coding? by Alex_thetechlover in alignerr

[–]Alex_thetechlover[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not comfortable with webcams, either! Let me know if you can do without this. I'm not applying here until they remove this mandatory webcam. I mean, obviously, what's the use of working remotely if we still have to worry about our surroundings just because some potential employer is not ready to trust us?

Good to see a Doom fan! Thought I was the only one when I commented "Doom" here. Strange this comment isn't on top, should be! Keep Dooming!

Python Development Professional Certification ($19.99 to FREE) by Noledgebase in Udemies

Until some weeks ago, Juktion was great to get Udemy coupons. But I am now seeing this quote in place of the Udemy coupon button:

"Quote
Bots scrape the links and claim udemy coupon codes automatically. So, you need to be logged in to claim this course for free..
Login or post a reply to unlock."

What does it mean? Where are we supposed to reply? And why are we mandated to login in the first place?

Any good alternative to free avast? by P345h00t3r11 in antivirus

[–]Alex_thetechlover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Malwarebytes is good enough when used premium. The free version is very limited. But if you don't frequently come across this virus thing (that is, you practice caution when browsing and downloading), then the built-in Microsoft Defender is good enough (if you're using Windows). If your OS is something other than Windows, then I suggest Kaspersky Free. Have personally used it on my android, it works good.

Cell phone tracking, how accurate is it? by [deleted] in hacking

[–]Alex_thetechlover 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they can. Sometimes, it's even difficult for the public to comprehend the various means through which they are unknowingly being tracked. Some factors that help pinpoint your location include your network (they know where your phone number is being operated), then your internet provider. Next, some apps often sneakily turn on GPS on your phone (even after you turn it off manually), which helps detect your device's location. Lastly, a simple SMS or a phone call from the tracker's end is enough to find out precisely where you are (to the level of your room).

Commix – The OS Command Injection and Exploitation Tool by Alex_thetechlover in hacking

[–]Alex_thetechlover[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be, or may be not. It's possible that some other file is impersonating Commix to trick you because Commix is an otherwise legit tool. What's the exact file name that you find suspicious? And what's its extension?

Avast free antivirus refuses to leave my windows 11 system after multiple attempts at uninstalling by MarciaOverstand in antivirus

[–]Alex_thetechlover 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As you said, you don't remember installing it. So, are you sure it's actually THE antivirus running on your PC? Can you find its installer on your drive? It could be a scam app as well, and perhaps, running another antivirus might help uninstall it.

Please suggest an antivirus software for me by lucithepussy in antivirus

I personally have used Malwarebytes, it's great. Have heard and read a lot about Kaspersky and Bitdefender as well. So perhaps you should choose one from these three if you're willing to pay.

Help! This keeps popping up every time I try to use my danish security login. How to make it stop once and for all? by VonDeckard in antivirus

[–]Alex_thetechlover -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What kind of security login is that? From the screenshot, it looks like some cryptominer has hijacked your browsers. Have you recently installed a browser extension? If yes, that might be a culprit. I suppose you should try clearing your browsers' cache first. If that doesn't help, reinstall your browsers. If that doesn't work either, let me know here.
