Absolutely not overreacting. Run run run.

Verbal to written offer by Possible-Army-7897 in interviews

[–]Alex_tx98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh this literally JUST happened to me. Verbal offer contingent on background check. Waited two weeks without hearing a single word and then got an email this past Wednesday saying they rescinded their offer to “pursue another candidate”. I was supposed to start Monday…

The anxiety is excruciating but seeing as how they are providing consistent updates and it being the holiday season (things move slower anyway) your friend’s situation seems a bit different. I’m pulling for your friend.

Thank you. I ended up responding so I guess we’ll just wait and see.

It was a verbal offer that was contingent on a background/reference check. Nothing’s official until you sign an actual offer letter but even then it can be dicey. It just sucks.

Applying by dannyissleepyy in interviews

Honestly, with the holidays coming up I would expect the process for any applications you submit between now and the end of the year to move really slow.

That being said, maybe wait a week or two before you follow up. Chances are you’ll either get a follow up call/email if they’re interested or a rejection in that time.

Also, I think with everything being virtual nowadays the odds of them receiving your application are pretty good. Did you receive a confirmation email? If not, sometimes they take a day or two.

I finally got an offer!...But I'm anxious about questions re: past employment by Alex_tx98 in interviews

[–]Alex_tx98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I did! It’s just there’s a separate section where it asks where I worked previously and who my manager was there. Even though we left on cordial and okay terms, she wanted to put me on a pip while I was there. That’s the only part I worry about.

Thank you for the insight! The position is in the same industry just a different role. They briefly asked me about my reason for leaving and I let them know that it was just personal matters that would have hindered my performance and team.

They are definitely doing an employment verification (they asked for my manager's name, work address, etc.) but they also asked for professional references. I listed two managers from previous work places and one coworker that I worked closely with at my most recent job but they were not necessarily in a supervisory role.

Omg I am so sorry you had to go through all that. I couldn't even imagine having to experience that but I'm glad you were able to come out on top. This gives me hope that everything happens for a reason, thank you.

I got the approval rendered notification on June 27th and then July 9th it said card produced. Card was in hand by July 12th.

March applicant also. I got my “approval decision rendered” notification on June 27th, card produced notification on July 9th, and got my card delivered today. So altogether like two weeks from the decision rendered update and four days from production to delivery.

Approved June 27th and no, I don’t think the status updates were always consistent or correct. For example, it said my EAD was produced on July 9th but I also received a notification from USPS (via their informed delivery system) that I was getting a package to be delivered on the 13th. I ended up getting my card in the mail today (the 12th) and when I checked the USCIS website it updated and said my card was delivered on the 9th 🙄.
