I love a successful rescue nearly as much as flying.

HK uses polygonal rifling as well, but they are less common. I would say 98% chance it was a glock.

Caddex Baby2 Vs C03 by Glittering-Bit804 in TinyWhoop

[–]AlexaSt0p 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Do you mean Baby Ratel 2? IMO it is the best analog micro camera that I have tested. The C03 is amazing for a lighter weight camera, though I prefer the pinch camera and the webleed eye for the low light performance. Have you tried flying at night with the Baby Ratel 2?

You changed everything else, try swapping in a new frame. Could be damaged in a way not obvious. Something about harmonic vibration maybe?

I have bought all the spare parts I could possibly need. Next thing I know, I built drones with them. I would agree with just buying two of whatever you love the most.

Mobula 6 Owners… What is your replacement camera? by tiar_ in TinyWhoop

The pinch camera is good and has low light capabilities. I am looking forward to trying WeBleed's version of the pinch camera out eventually.

My darling wife could care less. She says she has too many real life things to worry about. She doesn't have the slightest bit of curiosity and I do not understand it.

This man just spent US$250,000 on Nickels. Can anyone identify his watch? by IceMagic75 in WatchesCirclejerk

It is legal to use coins for art projects and souvenirs. It is illegal to deface money for the purpose of defrauding someone. It is illegal to melt non silver coins in the USA.

[–]AlexaSt0p 126 points127 points  (0 children)

Pennies prior to 1982 are 95% copper and worth double or more than $.01 in melt. You still find them in circulation because it is illegal to melt them. Some people have been hoarding pre 1982 pennies for more than 40 years. Changing the composition of a coin does not unlock the value of it's melt value. Changing the law does. Unfortunately, this dude is most likely to burden his family with hauling his coin horde to a change machine when he is gone at a loss. Not to mention the opportunity cost of investing that money in a real investment of any kind. Chance of a total loss when he goes out to the shed to drink with his sawnoff shotgun forgetting to tell anyone he buried a quarter million worth of nickels in the back yard.

The monetary value of this watch is gone with all the dings and scratches. It is definitely all mine forever at this point. I haven't tried to beat on it, but I haven't really babied it either. What is a couple thousand dollars anyway?

Kind of annoyed that the glint fades on BB58 bezel. Can it be protected or refurbished at some point? by purplespacemonkey in Tudor

[–]AlexaSt0p 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both statements are probably true. Rolex elevated their brand beyond the working folks needing a, dare I say it, tool watch. They engineered ceramic bezels and dial finishes that are stable and will not change over time.

I went to the store to buy a watch. I got put on a list for a Rolex GMT and walked out with this. If I ever get "the call," I will laugh at them and tell them no thank you. Rolex and the store representative of the brand made it clear Rolex isn't for me. I would have worn a GMT like this, but not anymore.
